Job Description

The Classroom Support Technician will be primarily focused on providing end user support of the classroom audio/video and Smart technology at Salem State University for faculty, students and staff. This role will be the primary contact for the coordination and execution of all evening classroom and event support requests (5PM-7PM). Primary duties will include support of on-campus audio/visual/learning technology for classroom spaces and for on-campus events. This role will also be responsible for participation in support of larger, online "webinar" events in conjunction with other technical and non-technical administrators.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience supporting live event or live classroom technologies and hardware.
  • Experience in setup, support and breakdown of basic portable audio-visual equipment, including live sound.
  • Familiarity with projection and pro-audio hardware specification and/or maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with PC/Mac operating systems
  • Familiarity with Extron programming
  • Experience working in Higher Education environment

Working Conditions:

This is an on-site, in-person position in Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities which may require regular work on evenings and occasional weekends.

Office activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting. Employee is subject to extended periods of visiting different classrooms interacting with a variety of AV equipment; occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25-50 pounds.
