Position Summary
The CDL Back Office Supervisor would monitor the day-to-day operations and support back-office staff of the CDL Department. The Supervisor's responsibilities would include verifying that transactions and system processes align with state and federal law, and that Service Center staff are conducting transactions in compliance with said laws. The Supervisor would also monitor progress with program related SQRs and assign testing responsibilities. This position is directly responsible for supervision of the CDL back-office staff and completion of any work items and/or casework resulting from Service Center transactions or customer inquiries relating to safe oversight of commercial licensing activities and sanctions.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of CDLIS reporting responsibilities and ATLAS system generated work items - either through collaboration with the RMV Out of State Notification and SPEX units or by direct manual completion.
- Serve as liaison for DOC Reentry Program Coordinator.
- Provide on-the-job training and orientation for employees.
- Assist with special projects and provide feedback regarding CDL knowledge testing.
- Develop and implement procedures and guidelines to accomplish assigned agency program objectives and goals.
- Evaluate program activities in order to determine progress and effectiveness and to make recommendations concerning changes as needed.
- Review reports, memoranda, etc. for completeness, accuracy, and content.
- Support development and training of RMV Service Center staff to promote accurate processing of CDL licensing transactions.
- Work with project teams testing software and hardware as needed, and reviewing documentation related to program or licensing implementation, as well as consult in the preparation of training materials.
- Serve as business subject matter expert for IT projects related to CDLIS or other CDL programs.
- Direct oversight of CDL Operations staff to ensure compliance and support eligibility decisions.
- Serve as a liaison with the Driver Control Unit (DCU) to ensure proper application of sanctions.
- Direct oversight over CDL skills test scheduling to ensure test lead times are within SLA.
- Regular communication with auditors to ensure full compliance within the CDL back office.
- Interpret state and federal laws for RMV personnel, industry partners, and the public.
- Provide suggested changes to commercial driver related documentation such as applications and informational materials including instruction and guidance on the RMV website in an effort to better inform and prepare drivers.

Minimum Entrance Requirements

Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required experience.
II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.
III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
