The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is excited to announce a career growth opportunity for a motivated and talented individual for Assistant Director of Core Services position at Hogan Regional Center.
The Assistant Director of Core Services assists the Director of Core Services, the Facility Director, Assistant Facility Director, or other appropriate administrators in the management of one or more aspects of facility preservation and conservation. As directed by the Director of Core Services, this position is generally responsible for the management of a segment of the facility or grounds department, or any other major function as assigned. This position covers the management and oversight of building use, stewardship, operation, repair, and the preventative maintenance of all facility infrastructure, as well as all CAMIS related requests. The position also assists in the development of proper maintenance procedures and safety programs. This also involves analyzing these procedures with the goal of establishing the future direction of all functional procedures and programs. Another primary duty is the management and supervision of other maintenance department employees and support staff for task delegation, project management, and performance appraisal. This position does not report to any Residential Director of this facility.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Knowledge of DDS Regulations, Policies and Practices and service delivery systems.
- Knowledge of Title XIX regulations.
- Knowledge of the philosophy and programs of the Department of Developmental Services.
- Knowledge of service provision, program monitoring, and accountability processes.
- Knowledge of the issues related to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
- Knowledge of HR principles and practices.
- Knowledge of mandated training requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
Experience Necessary:
Experience managing and supervising within a unionized workforce.
- OSHA Safety Regulations
- Training in cultural diversity and/or experience managing within a culturally diverse workplace.
- Experience in the planning and execution of facility maintenance and management.
- Experience managing staffing and personnel, including hiring, labor relations issues, overtime management, etc.
- Experience in budget management.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to prepare documents and reports accurately and in accordance with assigned or required timelines.
- Ability to follow guidelines and procedures.
- Knowledge of software applications such as desktop publishing, project management, spreadsheets, and database management.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Organizational skills.
- Based on assignments, the ability to supervise and assign work effectively.
- Ability to follow up on assignments given to others to ensure adequacy of their work and rapid resolution of any related issues.

ALL EMPLOYEES ARE PAID ON A BI-WEEKLY BASIS AND MUST HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT. Listed salary ranges are for one full year at current rates
Qualifications
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
II. An Associate's degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
III. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
IV. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience.
V. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.
Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range .
