The Department of Mental Health/Northeast Area (DMH/NEA) is seeking a dynamic, highly organized, mission driven individual to fill the role of The Assistant Director of Child, Youth and Family Services. The selected candidate in collaboration with the Area CYF Director, is responsible for Area planning, administration, development, oversight and direct management of all DMH services provided in the Area for authorized children & adolescents, and their families. CYF Assistant Director is responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality clinical services utilizing best and promising practices for children, adolescents and families in the Northeast Area.
The CYF Assistant Director is directly responsible for Area CYF Services staff (including the CSAS supervisor, CM supervisors) and maintains indirect oversights for all DMH contracted CYF Service Providers and programs in the Area. The CYF Assistant Director is responsible for the implementation of DMH Area and Central office policies and procedures related to CYF Services. The CYF Assistant Director collaborates closely with other state and local child-serving agencies, CBHI providers, and school representatives on the Area and regional level, to address youth and family needs and systemic barriers or issues. The CYF Assistant Director is provides general assistance to the Director of CYF Services and assumes responsibility of the CYF Division in the absence of the Director of CYF Services.

• Child/Adolescent Services Administrative Oversight and Coordination
• Child and Adolescent Case Management Services Oversight
• Child/Adolescent Services Utilization Review of all services under CYF Division
• Child/Adolescent Services Contract Monitoring
• Risk Management and Clinical Management Oversight
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in the ability to collaborate effectively with community groups and organizations.
- Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite and other PC based software.
- Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple, deadline-driven projects with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency.

Qualifications
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) five (5) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
II. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
III. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience.
IV. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for four (4) years of the required experience.
Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
