CONSUMER PROTECTION DIVISION
Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell seeks a highly motivated attorney to join her Office's Consumer Protection Division as an Assistant Attorney General. The Division enforces the Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act (M.G.L. c. 93A) and seeks to protect consumers from abusive practices in debt collection, automobile sales, mortgage lending, and student lending, among many other areas. Racial justice is a strategic priority of the Office, and we aim to serve the most vulnerable consumers in the Commonwealth.

Primary Duties:
The Assistant Attorney General (AAG) in the Consumer Protection Division will be responsible for identifying problematic business practices that negatively impact consumers, evaluating their suitability for enforcement, and ultimately, investigating and litigating civil actions on behalf of the Commonwealth, where appropriate. The AAG will be expected to develop and implement concrete strategies for remedying industrywide consumer abuses and may also have the opportunity to participate in legislative and regulatory policy development at both the state and federal levels.
Position Type:
Full-Time/Exempt. Our current hybrid model includes some remote workdays for most positions.
Salary:
$84,134 to $125,572, commensurate with JD year.

Qualifications
Applicants should be highly motivated, intellectually curious, and able to integrate new and complicated subject areas. Three years or more of prior complex litigation or equivalent legal experience preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate aptitude for formal and informal writing, legal analysis, negotiation, oral advocacy, and the ability to analyze and explain data is especially valuable. We seek an individual who can work both independently and as part of a team. We seek an individual who is committed to practicing law in the public interest. Must be a member of the Massachusetts Bar. Knowledge of a second language, especially Spanish or Portuguese, is a preferred. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities we serve and an interest in supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment.
