Boeing is seeking a Electro Mechanical Research Technician B for the Seattle location
Position Description:
Fabricate, assemble, and test components of prototype aircraft instrumentation and ordnance equipment. Set up and operate required flight test equipment (e.g., wire bundles, sensors, strain gages) to perform functional or environmental tests on production and/or experimental equipment.

Responsibilities Include:
- Work in lab and flight line work environments, with multi-contractor / government personnel as teammates in support of F-22A flight testing.
- Perform preflight and post flight inspections for the F-22A instrumentation data recording system in support of flight test.
- Obtain appropriate engineering drawings, schematics, and test documents, as required, for assignment if drawings, sketches, and documents are not with work order.
- Assist in the fabrication of wire bundles used to connect various types of flight test sensing equipment used to monitor and measure aircraft during flight test and used to connect sensors and gages to flight-test computing equipment.
- Perform tests such as vibration, thermal, humidity, or altitude using various computer systems, oscilloscopes, power supplies, counters, analyzers, and meters of various types under engineering direction.
- Perform tests of ordnance such as armament, armament loading equipment, explosive activated devices, and counter measure equipment.
- Set up and perform bench test or automatic test as required per work order, test document, test equipment manuals, and/or engineering instructions.
- Select and use proper hand, power, and/or bench tools needed to perform required operation, such as screwdrivers, pliers, torque wrenches, crimpers, and cable tools, as required.
- Write reports, tie-ins, and maintain records such as work log for areas/equipment as required.
- Devise and/or build temporary tools, shop aids, and work around methods as necessary to test systems.
- Handle and protect components and assemblies in accordance with shop procedures and drawing requirements.
- Maintain test equipment (e.g. periodic maintenance, STE's, shop aids, monitor certification dates.) Put completed job or reworked job up for inspection as required.
- Contact when assistance is needed (e.g. if there is are questions about drawings or paperwork, if drawings and paperwork do not match, or when any other problem arises).
- Troubleshoot and repair computerized test systems. Handle and dispose of hazardous materials, alcohol, sealants, epoxies) in approved manner (per MSDS-Material Data Safety Sheets) using personal protective equipment as required.
- Maintain personal and tool certifications, as required.
BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Tools usage screwdrivers, pliers, torque wrenches, crimpers, and cable tools, as required
Trouble shooting skills - electrical and mechanical
Reading drawing and schematics
Ability to obtain security clearance
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Typical Education:
High school graduate or GED preferred.

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
