A DAY IN THE LIFE of a Travel Sales Specialist:

The Auto Club Group is seeking a prospective Travel Sales Specialist provides sales coaching support for the Member Representative I (MR) or Travel Agent staff. You will be challenged to drive new business with competitive products and help retain The Auto Club Groups 14+ million members.

You will be supporting Travel Leaders and Travel Agents in the following states - Applicants MUST reside in one of these states:

  • Responsible for providing MRs or Travel Agents with travel sales, operations, policies, procedures, and processes development
  • Assists in creating travel sales staff, utilizing a strong foundation in proven selling skills and processes
  • Collaborates with field management to maximize the business development opportunities that support overall Travel Agency initiatives
  • Develop MRs into selling travel agents and provide reporting to show available pool of candidates
  • Provide, as needed, one-on-one sales coaching to MRs and Travel Agents via screen share when necessary
  • Review and maintain MR or Travel Agent new hire curriculum and supplemental training/FAMs and suggests direction for sales and travel product portfolio.
  • Assists management in the development of MRs or Travel Agents, meeting member needs, build company revenue, and promote travel sales.
  • Conducts regular conversations with management to discuss and /or implement travel sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Guides the Travel employee through cross/up-selling to grow Membership, Credit Cards and other ACG products. Provide feedback to management regarding progress of development plans. Collaborate with senior and field leadership to suggest member satisfaction initiatives to achieve accreditation scores for Travel Quality Standards.
  • Promote and develop group opportunities
  • Recommend MR or Travel Agent travel performance plans and objectives of recognition programs.
  • Highlight member-centric experiences with focus on ACG Travel's value proposition.
  • Send enhanced MR or Travel Agent communications that drive sales, promote OSAT and other initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver workshops that help increase sales and revenue for MRs or Travel Agents.
  • Represent travel on field leadership calls
  • Assist with development and implementation of the Travel and MR business strategies
  • Support the digital travel strategies to enhance the digital member experience.
  • Serves as ACG liaison with Travel partners for MR or Travel Agent trainings, MR and Travel Agent FAMs, events, and other initiatives as needed.
  • Suggest customer appeasement and agent error solutions to branch leadership
  • Supports development and implementation of agent expertise strategies, programs, and events.
  • Creates detailed reporting and analyses with recommendations for growth and strategy improvement
  • Provides and presents leadership with analyses on requested key initiatives to support business line strategies.
  • Exceed Travel Agent or MR Sales and Revenue Goals
  • Assist with special projects and campaigns

WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO

Required Qualifications:

Work Experience:

  • MUST HAVE 3 years of travel agent selling experience to include extensive international booking experience
  • Business planning and consulting
  • Researching, analyzing, identifying, and resolving complex business problems
  • Preparing and presenting proposals to all levels of management
  • Implementing strategies and sales initiatives
  • Previous sales coaching experience
  • Extremely strong sales skills
  • Extensive knowledge of MR and Travel agent role and responsibilities

Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications):

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Successful candidates will possess:

Knowledge of:

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Travel agency systems i.e.: Salesforce, Axis and/or Globalware, Apollo, Smartpoint, Travelport, various vendor sites, AgentMax
  • Travel business and industry trends
  • Company products and services
  • Club products and procedures
  • Marketing affinity or partnership programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

Work Environment

  • Remote position. May require visits to branches with a temperature-controlled office environment
  • Travel required with exposure to road hazards and temperature extremes, including some overnight travel
  • Willingness to work irregular hours
