Position Description

The Auto Club Group is seeking a prospective Claim Support Assistant II who will assist their specified claims department with a variety of support functions that may include processing tasks, ordering and monitoring supplies, contacting members and customers and responding to questions, supporting the front-line reception function, etc. The claim support assistant will also compile information for reports and generate routine reports for use by management.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (details of the basic job functions):

Codes, edits, verifies, and enters information via keyboard on a teleprocessing/computer system

Performs calculations for a variety of routine applications (i.e., reports, forms, audits, various debit and credit balances, etc.).

Provides support for various monetary transactions including analyzing and resolving billing or customer related problems and providing cashiering services for members by taking payments for credit card/tickets while following appropriate company procedures. Types forms, reports and correspondence and maintains file and record systems. Collects information and investigates problems relative to the department.

Reviews a variety of reports and checks various forms for accuracy and completeness. May process mail using postal or imaging equipment, contact internal and/or external clients for information, sort incoming mail and documents and respond to telephone inquiries and problems and assist in developing new procedures.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify)

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Operating a calculator and/or adding machine
  • Performing basic math calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages
  • Maintaining accurate files and records
  • Using a PC for word processing, email and basic spreadsheet applications
  • Typing routine correspondence, memos and basic reports

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Business writing including using correct grammar and spelling
  • Analyzing, researching and solving routine problems
  • Prioritizing and completing multiple tasks concurrently
  • Preparing report information
  • Communicating effectively with others in a work environment and with the public
  • Rotating within department to forming various support functions and for training purposes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Elite communication skills both oral and written
  • Data entry experience with high accuracy level
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent organization and adaptability skills

Work Environment

This position is classified as a hybrid work arrangement. Depending on the employee's role and leadership's assessment, some employees will come into an ACG facility on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, or on an "as needed" basis for key meetings and collaborative activities. Most employees will be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or teambuilding events.

For this opening, employees will perform daily work duties on a remote basis with any needed in office visits outlined by management on an "as needed" basis. Employees will operate remotely unless otherwise notated by management.
