Claim Manager II - Casualty (Florida) - The Auto Club Group
What you will do:
The Auto Club Group is seeking prospective Casualty Claim Manager II who will manage the daily operations and administer policies and procedures within our Casualty Claim unit.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to:
- Perform specialized claims functions within assigned region such as casualty claims with a heavy emphasis on casualty litigation, etc.
- Manage the investigation, evaluation and settlement of complex or high dollar value claims.
- Manage personnel within assigned area.
- Interview job applicants and recommends the hiring of personnel.
- Schedule work hours and assigns job duties.
- Evaluate employee work performance.
- Counsel, discipline and recommend the termination of subordinates as indicated.
- Accountable for financial and non-financial results (budget and actual), project management and staff management.
- Prepare budget estimates and ensures adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Take necessary corrective action to mitigate or reverse unfavorable variances.
- Review and approves reserves for both Casualty indemnity and expenses.
- Facilitate and support departmental objectives.
- May be responsible for setting and developing a strategy for department operations.
- Analyze and appraise departmental operating results and develops innovative approaches to improve performance or resolve problems.
- Prepare statistical forms necessary to produce monthly company financial reports.
- Work in cooperation with the Regional Claim Manager and Director to develop contingency planning for large scale catastrophic losses.
- Conduct technical research and develops methods to reduce or contain costs related to operating expenses and paid claims.
- Provide direct assistance to Regional Claim Manager and executive staff in coordinating or conducting special claim surveys and projects.
- Involved with outside organizations in the community to enhance public image.
- Perform claim investigation and settlement activities in catastrophic loss/injury situations as warranted.
- Coordinate the investigation of suspected fraud at branches and other office locations.

We're looking for candidates who:
Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify)
Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field or the equivalent in related work experience.
- Florida Active Adjuster's License is required.
- Possession of a valid State driver's license
- Completion of the I.I.A. (Insurance Institute of America) or other insurance coursework
Possession or completion of one or more of the following:
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriting coursework
- American Education Institute coursework or certification in insurance
- Fraud Claim Law Specialist Certification
- Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator Certification
Experience to include:
- Claims processing policies and procedures including settlement techniques (homeowners/auto/casualty/subrogation)
- Policy coverage terminology
- Fair Trade Practice Act as it relates to claims
- Indications of potential fraudulent activities
- Investigation and negotiation techniques
- Catastrophic personal injuries and related rehabilitation therapy
- Organizations, services and facilities providing assistance and treatment to injury claims
- Intercompany arbitration and litigation management
Management ability to include:

Ability to:

- Must reside in the state of Florida (preferably near Tampa area)
Work environment
- This is a hybrid work arrangement (time spent in office and remote). Depending on the employee's role and leadership's assessment, some employees will come in to an ACG facility on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, or on an "as needed" basis for key meetings and collaborative activities. Most employees will be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or teambuilding events.
