AES Clean Energy (AES CE) is seeking a Senior Product Manager Digital (SPMD) to join our growing organization. In this position you will develop the strategy, roadmap, and implement new features and enhancementsto software solutions supporting our renewables business unit. Your strong experience will enable you to define and manage enterprise level technology products and services and participate in diverse technology projects. You will work with other teams to identify opportunities to enhance existing software solutions that cater to a diverse set of internal customers. Being a highly self-motivated person, you will thrive in a rapidly changing ambiguous environment and lead a team that will deliver on the technology front. Strong communication skills and being able to influence your stakeholders are key skills required to do this role. You will be expected to operate using Agile, define sprint cycles, and assign work using Jira. You will be encouraged to experiment, improve, and innovate on top of the technology stack.

The Senior Product Manager Digital will lead a team of developers with experience in application development, distributed microservices, and full stack systems. This position will preferably be based in the Louisville, Colorado office or alternate location Salt Lake City, Utah.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy and Roadmap: Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for the platforms supporting business processes (Quickbase, Landfolio, Procore, React, among others). Identify and prioritize features and projects based on stakeholder needs, business impact, and technical feasibility.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with stakeholders across Continuous Improvement, Development, Engineering and Digital teams to understand their needs and translate them into actionable product requirements. Ensure alignment and manage expectations throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with product and development teams to ensure clear understanding of requirements and priorities. Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to support the development process. Ensure that delivered features meet quality standards and acceptance criteria.
  • Product Backlog: Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it is up to date, prioritized, and aligned with the product roadmap. Work with stakeholders to gather, refine, and prioritize product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the local applications team and product developers. Understand the technical details of the product and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Provide technical feasibility of roadmap.
  • Task Management: Assign tasks to product analyst and developers or take ownership of tasks based on team capacity, complexity, and business needs. Ensure tasks are clearly defined, with proper scope and deadlines, and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery. Collaborate with product analysts and developers to clarify requirements and provide guidance on task execution.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data and analytics to make informed product decisions. Monitor product performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven enhancements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • College Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • 7-10 years' demonstrated experience in the implementation and support of business systems software platforms
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or similar role in product management
  • Strong understanding of Agile Methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) and experience working in Agile teams
  • Broad technical acumen including comfort with relational databases, and data structures (Quickbase experience preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance, prioritize, and manage multiple projects of differing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to comfortably communicate with all levels of the organization. Create comprehensive and accurate documentation
  • Ability to work with autonomy in a fast-paced environment and a strong sense of accountability
  • Experience working with Jira is a plus.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $140,000 and $182,750/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
