AES Clean Energy is currently seeking a Project Manager to coordinate high-impact photovoltaic solar and energy storage projects through development, construction, commissioning, and turnover to Operations. The successful
candidate will assist in due diligence on potential project acquisitions, lead construction planning activities, define EPC scopes of work for projects nearing construction, and act as an Owner's Project Manager to plan and oversee progress of active construction projects.

The position offers the flexibility to work remotely, but candidates located in California are preferred. Occasional travel to sites will be required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and detail RFPs and scope of work packages for 3rd party EPC firms. Participate in EPC selection and contract negotiation.
  • Conduct due diligence on potential solar sites, evaluate suitability, and review various reports.
  • Act as the Owner's Representative for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contract Management on high-impact PV solar and energy storage projects.
  • Review and manage EPC Contractor schedules, budgets, scope, subcontractors, EHS plans, and permit compliance.
  • Manage utility interconnection processes and related documentation.
  • Engage with collaborators, including landowners, governmental agencies, customers, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Support permitting and jurisdictional approval processes.
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors and vendors to ensure contract compliance.
  • Manage internal teams and deliverables of EPC Contractors, collaborators, customers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure project quality control and safe construction practices through inspections.
  • Lead project status update meetings with AES management and other parties.
  • Coordinate and file project documentation for collaborators and customers.
  • Coordinate project turnover exercises from Construction to the Asset Operations team.
  • Assist with developing internal operating policies, standards, and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of professional experience in construction project management, renewable energy project experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with photovoltaic solar design, civil and structural technical knowledge.
  • Experience in distributed generation or utility-scale PV solar project construction, energy storage preferred.
  • Project Management Institute PMP certification preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, CPM scheduling, and Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent collaborator management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including maintaining calm during stressful situations.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $104.000 and $130.050/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
