Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

Responsibilities
• Responsible for the Design and Development of RFO & Electro-Mechanical Products starting from VOC to Production release.
• Understand RFO requirements of a product and ensure that the design meets the functional requirement..
• Lead a team of 4 to 5 engineers to execute NPD, Sustenance and VAVE projects to achieve departmental KPI metrics.
• Accountable to drive NPD program starting from VOC to Production including concept, design, Development and Qualification of the product as per MIL/Aerospace standard.
• Accountable to meet engineering metrics which includes Launch on Time, Engineering efficiency, Innovation engagement % and Cost savings $$ thru Value engineering projects.
• Proper Material selection during product design which meets Functional/environmental requirement of the Electrical Product/ system.
• DFM & DFA consideration during design of the component & products.
• Self Drive for result & complete the project within Project schedule.
• Interpretation of Structural and Thermal analysis data and should be able to translate these results into Design.
• Tolerance consideration for ease of manufacturing & assembly fitment with lower cost.
• Analyzing test & qualification report of the new product and make necessary change in the design for performance improvement.
• Root causing the failure & making the required changes to meet functional requirement.
Skillset and Profile
• Should be having an experience of RFO & Mechanical product design using New Product Development Cycle process with product qualification experience.
• Min 3 years Experience in leading and managing a team of min Two engineers.
• Proven Ability to transform Voice of Customer into Technical Specifications
• Experience in solving Product technical failures thru Root cause analysis and providing design recommendation to fix the failure using analytical tools.
• Experience in working and managing cross functional team to execute the project from
• Good Knowledge of Global Certifications and Regulatory Standards (UL, IEC, MIL etc).
• Knowledge in Creo software, Autocad, PDM windchill & PLM software.
• Strong Technical Aptitude with Willingness to learn new Technologies quickly.
• Demonstrated Experience of working in a fast paced and changing environment with the ability to work to tight deadlines
• Good Knowledge of manufacturing processes like Molding, Stamping, Plating and other Metal Forming processes.
• Expertise in Tolerance Stack-up Analysis, FMEA and Design related calculations.
• Capable of Handling Multiple Projects simultaneously.
• Good Conceptual, problem solving and Analytical Skills.
• Should be Self-Motivated, Adaptive, Passionate about results and a Good Team Player.
• Experience in Product Design involving Plastic and Sheet Metal parts.
• Knowledge of six sigma tools will be an added advantage.
• Experience & knowledge in structural analysis, mold flow analysis, magnetic analysis will be added advantage.
• Willingness to Travel as required and at short notice.
Qualification and Experinece
• B.E./B.Tech. Mechanical/Optical with good Analytical and Conceptual Skills.
• About 10+ years' experience in Fibre Optics and Mechanical product design in Aerospace, Automotive or Industrial domain Industries.
