Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

Position: AP Equipment Sourcing Analyst
Location: Shanghai

Job Summary: Provides the direction for optimum sourcing of the assigned commodities. The AP Equipment Sourcing Analyst is considered the corporate expert for the assigned commodities and leads the development and implementation of the global commodity strategy in Collaboration with the Global ESS Commodity Strategy Owner to realize established goals and objectives on Tactical and Transactional Level. It is expected that the AP Equipment Sourcing Analyst will have responsibility of managing RFQs, negotiating contracts, including terms and condition, and working in alignment with AP ESS strategic sourcing manager, regional indirect procurement leader and Global Commodity Director based on Global Strategy, by collaboration with corporate Engineering, Cross Business Unit and COEs leaders.

Responsibility/Job Complexity:
• Build up a regional sub-commodity strategy based on global procurement and business strategy/ Objectives
• Drive LCC/BCC sourcing and develop suppliers in TE new footprint.
• Drive Continuous supplier base and improvement on new and existing supply base.
• Lead QBR Sessions with Strategy and Preferred supplier base on assigned commodities.
• Drive and deliver productivity and other objectives for assigned commodities.
• Execute sourcing based on S2P (Source to Pay Policy) policy and Lean PD process.
• Lead TCO Analysis and drive sourcing Approval due to committed Indirect Goals with the sourcing committees
• Drive innovations with stakeholders for new applications and new processes.

What your background should look like:

Key Challenges:
• Be the key face of ESS custom automation category in AP Strategy, Tactical and Transactional to all inward/outward facing customers.
• Lead and Implement Commodity Strategy in the Region and communicate effectively
• Support RFI, RFQ and contract development
• Drive cost savings goals and commodity strategies
• Drive custom automation cost modeling development
• Support implementation of Corporate KPI's (Key Performance Indicators i.e Cost, Delivery, Payment terms, etc.)
• Support Cross functional teams i.e. Engineering, materials, Plant Operations etc.
• Support Employee development and mentoring programs.

Education/Work Experience:
BA/BS, + 8 years minimum work experience OR
MA/MS, + 5 years minimum work experience

Comments / Concerns
Working within a complex customer environment including engineering and technical issues and communication with leadership is a key critical skill. Looking for a seasoned expert to work alongside other commodity peers as well as coach junior team members. Must be willing to travel 25-50% of time throughout the China, Japan, Korea, and Thailand and global to meet with stakeholders, and to communicate and sell long term regional and global vision/strategy.
