Job Overview

BU / FUNCTION DESCRIPTION

Indirect Procurement deals with Purchasing of Capital /Spares and working in close coordination with New Projects team for enquires from Pre RFQ-stage to Business award and execution. It involves understanding the detailed techno commercial requirements of the projects, understanding the applications of the final product, Bill Of Materials, Appropriate source identification, getting quotes, Source finalization and qualification, Negotiations and onboarding of new suppliers.

• Supports team in performing the key commercial aspect of purchasing such as timely responding to New Projects related enquiries for seeking techno commercial proposals from suppliers.
• Driving supplier selection, sourcing price negotiation, new material coordination, global/regional coordination, and new supplier onboarding.
• Achieve procurement project targets for assigned projects regarding Cost, Quality, Delivery and Service Performance of suppliers.

Responsibilities:

• Buyer - Indirect Procurement of Capital, Spares and Services Requirements for the TE India Automotive Plants. (Shirwal, Bangalore, Wagholi )
• Review and action on open purchase requisitions.
• Check Open CER's, Call for Quotes and bidding.
• Create Orders in SAP after approval of the purchase requisition.
• Send orders to external and internal suppliers.
• Track receipt of order confirmations.
• Update the confirmed dates to stake holders.
• Follow TE's sourcing process for all new spend.
• Coordinate with CFT to decide to make or buy strategy.
• Decide suppliers in line with commodity strategy for floating RFQs.
• Evaluate the offers from supplier & share the most appropriate offer for costing consideration.
• Independent handling of series requests taking into account the requirements of drawings, specifications, deadlines, quality & cost of materials & capex taking into account the global and regional purchasing strategy,
• Present the business case to Senior Management and Other Stakeholders for all the proposals & get it approved
• Negotiate with suppliers on price along with all the terms & conditions
• Complete the appropriate contracts with the suppliers
• Complete legal requirements, price benchmarking & initial assessment of the new suppliers
• On board the new suppliers required for supply base gaps.

Candidate Desired Profiles:

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

• BE/ B.Tech ( Mechanical/ Electrical/Electronics /Mechatronics ) Or Bachelor's Degree from Govt. Recognized University Or Diploma from Recognized Institute .
• Knowledge of local/regional/global supplier base for Equipment's and Services or Components is a plus.
• SAP knowledge.

CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

• For Buyer: Minimum 4 + years' experience in Project, Capital, and Spares purchases.
• Experience in supplier selection and development of components /parts as per Automotive standards.
• Previous experience in working with multi-disciplinary cross functional engineering teams and coordination with affiliate local/regional or global procurement teams.
• Experience in cost structure analysis (electronics, Electrical parts and cost reduction programs.

COMPETENCIES
• Advanced knowledge in the use of MS Office applications, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint.
• Strong Negotiation skills.
• Technical - Drawing reading is must with knowledge of solid work (3D Cam Design Software)
• SAP knowledge will be preferred.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English, local language.
