Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

What your background should look like:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., Master's) may be preferred.
• Proven experience in stamping processes, tooling design, and manufacturing operations.
• Strong knowledge of metal forming principles, materials, and equipment.
• Experience or knowledge of cold heading operations a plus
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., Finite Element Analysis).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform root cause analysis.
• Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Work Environment:
• Will require travel to suppliers, customers, or other company locations.
• Position is based in HMO ADM facility.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Stamping Process Design and Development:
Support vendors producing stamped components
Select appropriate materials, tools, and equipment for stamping operations.
Collaborate with design engineers to optimize parts for manufacturability.
2. Tooling and Die Design:
Design or oversee the design of stamping tools and dies.
Ensure that tooling and dies are capable of producing parts to required specifications.
Implement improvements to tooling and dies to enhance production efficiency and quality.
3. Process Optimization and Improvement:
Continuously improve stamping processes to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues.
Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations.
4. Quality Assurance:
Perform process capability studies and ensure adherence to quality standards.
Address quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
5. Project Management:
Manage stamping projects from concept through production launch.
Coordinate cross-functional teams including tooling, manufacturing, and quality departments.
Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
Create and maintain documentation related to stamping processes and procedures.
Prepare reports on process performance, quality metrics, and project status.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
