At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world.
Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

Role Statement:
The Staff Assembly Process Development Engineer with automation skill designs and develops manufacturing processes for economical mass production of new products, as well has certain automation equipment development skill
Target is to utilize and adapt emerging manufacturing base-technologies for the needs of Relay Manufacturing by executing economic projects for real-life mass-production and integrate and standardize them in the internal Relay Manufacturing Technology Platforming System for Process Technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• "Manufacturing Development"
• Develops an optimal mass-production Manufacturing Plan for LEANPD NPI projects based on Relay's existing Process- and Automation-Platform, product concepts and marketing data
o Develops the overall technical base-data for product-cost- and investment-calculations and for cost comparison of different manufacturing variants and automation levels
o Ensures proper use of processes in production equipment by Process-FMEA's
o Creates target specs for sourcing relay manufacturing equipment (tools and automatic assembly equipment/machinery)
o Supervise equipment installation, debug, trial run to meet defined requirements.
o Develops manufacturing processes for specific projects
o Represents MDE in Core Teams for LeanPD NPI projects (= coordinator for MDE topics within Core Teams) and acts there as the key person for Manufacturing Technology including Assembly line, component manufacturing plan, cost estimation and calculation.
o Ensures new processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
o Solves new product-/new process-production problems
• "Process Technology"
• Develops and further extends the Relay Manufacturing Technology Process Platform
o Benchmarking of existing processes
o Standardization of existing processes and development of new relay production processes (= "Process Platforming")
o Ensures that products are designed for optimal manufacturability in cooperation with product development teams (= DFA)
o Work with component engineers and PDE for part and assembly specification review (e.g., tolerance analysis)
• "Sample-shop"
• Manages sourcing and production of product models and samples for product development projects
o Development and sourcing of sample-production equipment and parts (prototypes from 3D printing, machining, soft tooling and common part)
o Win Know-How out of sample-production and transfer to mass-production planning.
o Follow up and resolve the issues learned from sample trail run.
• "Project Management"
• Leads and Manages assigned projects
o Coordinates overall manufacturing processes for LEANPD projects ensure meet mass production requirement.
o Responsible for the completion of assigned engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
o Prepares project schedules and project plans
o Organizes and conducts regular project reviews, meetings and prepares meeting minutes
