Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Advanced Manufacturing and Process Development group - part of the Automotive Business Unit - has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual who can create immediate business impact in the exciting field of injection molding simulation. In this role - you will utilize your skills and experience to develop Digital Twins of physical parts and the processes used to manufacture them. You will then use these "twins" to model various scenarios and develop optimized production processes and answer questions for various stakeholders as we continue our digital transformation. You will work closely with your Automotive colleagues to bring understanding and insights to both existing and future process developments.

The successful candidate must be passionate about innovation, enjoy self-directed learning, and being part of cross-functionals teams. You will need to develop new ideas and implement simulations for mission critical projects and be able to communicate their value to the broader team.

A highly motivated individual will be an ideal fit for this role as it will require the learning and use of multiple software tools within TE. If you have a background in plastic manufacturing plus CAD experience - and are the type of person others can rely on to figure something out - we want to talk to you!

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor's degree in the fields of Plastic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (or relevant years of experience)
  • An understanding of injection molding manufacturing operations - especially concepts like plastic flow, shrinkage, warpage, and mold compensation
  • A high-level understanding of stamping, plating, molding and assembly of TE products
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and a strong mechanical aptitude

Key Skills:

  • Fluent English and Spanish proficiency required
  • Expertise in Moldflow Insight (and preferably also Moldex3D)
  • Moldflow Certifications preferred
  • Experience in Volume Graphics Metrology & CT scans of plastic products, or willingness to learn
  • Scientific Injection Molding Certification (or relevant years of experience)
  • Understanding of and experience in the following:
  • Creo 3D CAD or comparable CAD software
  • Geometric Dimensional and Tolerancing
  • Working directly with others to identify requirements, establish expectations, and meet agreed upon design constraints, performance targets, and related goals for projects

Travel: 10%-25%
Location: Hermosillo, Sonora.
