Job Overview

TE Connectivity's R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

• The Product Quality Engineer of this position will support the high speed and high- density processor socket development and is responsible for the quality and data analysis through testing for the Data and Devices Business Unit of TE Connectivity.
• In this role you will be responsible to qualify if product performance meets the customer requirements to support the development of high-performance socket products. You will be responsible to analyze mass data and execution of the reliability test to provide technical validation data to the product development team and the customers.
• Since the product requirements, test requirements, estimated life cycles must be clarified during the early phases of product development, your role will be to build detailed test procedures and technical requirements by providing assumptions and calculations from legacy test data and industrial reports. You will be suggesting the technology development requirements based on new technology and methodology with product development engineering, and manufacturing engineering teams.
• During the product development execution, you will provide the customer engineering data and information, such as dimensional analysis results, simulation data, and test data to get their feedback throughout the process to ensure the product meets their requirements.
• You will be leading the failure mode analysis and improvement plan in development and production phase. You will provide the technical report to summarize the root cause analysis, brainstorming, improvement options, and test data. Also initiating the improvement plan and execute it with development engineering team and plant engineer for product improvement.
• You may be assigned to on-site problem fix on new product development, quality related workshop in China plant.

What your background should look like:

• Bachelor's degree on Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Master's degree is a PLUS.
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a quality engineering or product development engineering. Experience in electrical components industry is ideal.
• English skill, fluent in both oral and written English. (TOEIC over 600 points)
• Basic understanding of mechanical designs including GD&T, structural mechanics and manufacturing process on stamping, injection molding, plating, and assembly.
• Ability to work in a global environment, able to collaborate with individuals across geographies.
• Complete technical documents, including design specification, test report, engineering presentation.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience of direct customer interaction is a PLUS.
• Knowledge and the experience with SixSigma, SPC, or statistical analysis is a PLUS.
• Experience in connector or socket product development is a strong PLUS.
• The capability of manipulating CAD tools (Creo, SpaceClaim, etc.) is a PLUS.
