Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES

Leadership & Team Management:
• Lead the India Sensor Global Quality Engineering Team in Bangalore, ensuring alignment with market standards (ISO 9001, AS 9100, IATF 16949, ISO/TS 22163, and ISO 13485).
• Assign skilled Quality Engineers to projects, ensuring timely delivery of quality milestones in accordance with TE's stage gate development process.
• Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to develop talent and foster a culture aligned with TE's core values.
Project Quality Assurance:
• Oversee new product development projects, ensuring quality requirements are met from project definition to production launch.
• Provide guidance to project stakeholders to meet design control requirements, including verification, validation, risk management, and process qualification for industrialization
• Identify and alleviate project bottlenecks, mitigate risks, and manage escalations to ensure timely and proper execution of projects
• Approve gate exits and ensure timely completion of PPAP or equivalent documentation for production release, meeting the highest quality standards.
Customer & Leadership Engagement:
• Ensure efficient communication with customers and leadership team on quality-related topics
• Anticipate and manage escalations effectively.
Process & Continuous Improvement Management:
• Drive a Zero-Defect mindset by ensuring data-driven problem-solving and improvement initiatives.
• Implement Lean Product Development principles, focusing on requirements, FMEA, DV/PV, PPAP, reviews.
• Monitor and report on Design Quality KPIs and goals monthly for the team.
• Evaluate project outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to processes.

DESIRED SKILLS

Experience: Minimum of 7 Years' Experience in design quality for stage gate product development under the IATF framework, with knowledge of key deliverables such as Product Requirements, FMEA, FTA, DV and PV plans, PPAP documentation, and customer approval.
• Proficiency with Quality Tools: Experience with Six Sigma DMAIC, FMEA, SPC, 8D Root Cause Analysis, Cpk, MSA, and Gage R&R.
• Functional Safety Management: Experience in managing functional safety in product development projects based on ISO 26262.
• Knowledge of Quality Standards: Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS 9100, IATF 16949, ISO/TS 22163, and ISO 13485.
• Leadership in Quality Goals: Proven experience in leading quality goals with global product development teams in a cross-functional, multi-site environment, delivering projects with multiple dependencies and constraints.
• Strong communication skills
• Certified in Six Sigma methodology.
• Willingness to travel as required, 10~25%
