Senior Electrical Engineer (m/w/d) High Voltage

Role objective:

The Sr Electrical Engineer will report to the Innolab Manager, Energy and will be a member of the Innolab team and responsible for the development of products required for the transmission and distribution of electric energy and will support different TE Energy product lines like as cable accessories, smart grid systems insulation & protection and connectors & fittings for LV, MV & HV applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and development of cable accessories and smart grid products for medium and high-voltage applications
  • Preparing, setting up and carrying out electrical tests and trials on new and existing products in our in-house high-voltage laboratory
  • Responsible for product development and qualification from market definition through production and release
  • Conceives new ideas for new technologies and products and reduces them into practice
  • Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs
  • Provides all required documentation
  • Collaboration in an international development team and interdisciplinary collaboration within the company and with suppliers

What your background should look like:

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE
• Above average engineering degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with focus on high voltage engineering
• Advanced knowledge on numerical calculation software (e.g. COMSOL, ANSYS Maxwell)
• Knowledge of setting up, carrying out and analyzing experiments and tests in the high-voltage laboratory
• Knowledge in development of sensors for smart grid systems (e.g. voltage sensors)
• Knowledge of relevant standards for cable accessories and sensors is a plus
• Basic knowledge in the field of material science is an advantage
• Written and spoken fluency in English

CRITICAL EXPERIENCE
• Proven ability to execute on engineering deliverables
• Strong customer service mindset and mentality of delivering quality products and services on time and within company cost and profitability objectives
• Fluent communication skills facilitating collaboration with own team, customers, internal business leaders and technology leaders to create value
• Individual must be self-motivated and require minimum supervision, have strong planning skills and be able to deal with and balance multiple competing priorities
