Job Overview
TE Connectivity's R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

Responsibility:
• Requirement Analysis: Thoroughly analyze customer requirements and translate them into precise product specifications.
• Design & Development: Create assembly designs that meet specified requirements. This includes conceptualization, component selection, integration, and achieving quality, cost, and timeline targets.
• Manufacturing Concept: Develop a robust workable concept in collaboration with suppliers. Ensure adherence to TE Quality standards, achieve cost efficiency, and meet project timelines.
• Concurrent Engineering: Utilize concurrent engineering to develop design and manufacturing concepts simultaneously.
• Hands-On Qualification: Personally conduct testing and qualification of selected design concepts.
• Reliability Testing: Collaborate with reliability engineers to define a comprehensive reliability test strategy for chosen designs.
• Documentation and Standards: Generate essential documentation following TE standards and relevant AS standards, including QFD, FMEA, and other relevant materials. Conduct CAD modeling as required by the project.
• Sample Production Support: Facilitate sample production using serial tools and supplier partnerships to align with front-loading strategies.
• Standardization Efforts: Drive standardization by establishing and maintaining design and process guidelines across connector products.
Desired Candidate Profile:
Qualification & Experience:
• B.E./B.Tech. with 5+ years in Mechanical engineering.
• M.E/M. Tech. with 3+ years in Mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of design tools such as Creo / CAD tools.
• DFSS certified or Exposure to DFSS methodologies is added advantage.
Functional Skills:
• Good Conceptual, problem solving and Analytical Skills.
• Strong Technical Aptitude with Willingness to learn new Technologies.
• Ability to communicate effectively and accurately across multi-cultural groups.
• Excellent Communication and Presentation skills
