Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Quality Inspection Supervisor will manage the quality inspection team (on site), driving product and production systems to comply with TE specified requirements per customer and contractual agreements. Focusing on incoming, fabrication, inline, final inspection, source inspection completion with FAI's, driving quality documentation, and supporting final shipments. Quality Supervisor will be required to manage Kronos, SAP input, Discus software, Net inspect for timecards, quality notifications, Techs, and FAI process.

This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Responsibilities:

The responsibility of the Quality Inspection Supervisor will provide leadership for our Quality inspection team and continuous improvement to meet required quality objectives.
Create, update, and provide training to quality inspection team for all quality inspection plans (QIP).

  • Monitor all incoming receiving parts, incoming fabrication parts, inline inspection units, final inspection units, confirming they are processed through the quality inspection team per schedule, or as Hot list are surfaced pending on production needs.
  • Confirm Quality notes are started and completed with RCCA either within the plant or supplier (Tech).
  • Process return material authorization (RMA) through the SAP system, working with the designated vendors. Confirm all rejected material is sent back to supplier as decided through MRB.
  • Lead/support the MRB designated location with confirming Q-Notes are assigned to all rejected material, rejected material is organized and processed within the MRB guidelines.
  • Manage and direct quality inspectors process and schedule.
  • Support Overtime requirements as specified, be open to flexibility to complete assigned tasks.
  • Manage and implement cross functional training to the quality inspection team.
  • Manage quality inspectors' timecards through kronos
  • Manage source inspection, schedule and completion by physically inspecting, or working with designated sourced inspection QE to physically inspect for shipments.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing FAI completions (Receiving inspection, Fabrication, Inline inspection, Final Inspection).
  • Assist in implementation and maintaining of MSA (Gauge R&R, SPC, CPK, etc).
  • Conduct internal audits per allotted schedule
  • Promote and Drive "Zero Defect" mentality within the quality Organization for proactive tools such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, Advance Product and Quality Planning (APQP) Statistical Process control (SPC) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Lead and complete RCCA (root cause/corrective action) (5 why, 8D).
  • Support and complete other requests per Manager

What your background should look like:

  • 2+ Years of experience in Quality, supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Union Experience is a plus but not required
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and preferred statistical software.
  • Source inspection experience is a plus, but not required
  • Communication with customer/auditors as needed
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality tools, practices and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO
  • SAP Software knowledge is a plus but not required
  • Process control knowledge and implementation experience (PFMEA. SPC, CPK, Gage R & R, Control Plans, etc.).
  • Successfully worked in a team environment aiding various departments requiring consistent quality assurance systems to succeed
  • Ability to influence and drive cross functional teamwork, ability to work well with internal and external customers, and with other cultures
  • Experience in complying with customer, statutory and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to direct identification of root cause, drive improvement actions and resolve problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work outside normal working hours to accommodate task completion
  • Knowledge of and experience in problem solving tools such as 8D, 5 whys and fishbone analysis
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of quality tools including, but not limited to, APQP,
  • FMEA, SPC, 8D, 5W problem solving tools, PPAP and FAI's.
  • Self-Starter, driven to implement change and improvements for the vision of the company

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $33.18/Hour - $49.81/Hour (69,000 - $103,600 annually) (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
