Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• BU PoC for the TE Appliances Business Unit, Product approvals & certification activities globally, across all regions.
• Shall act as a project manager and be very diligent, methodical and organized in carrying out the agency activities.
• Excellent Knowledge and understanding on the agency technical reports, test reports, specifications and procedures is a must.
• Spearhead the continuous improvement activities, 5S and kaizen event for lean process/system and cost saving activities.
• Shall be subject matter expert and provide guidance to the internal teams on the interpretation of technical/standard requirements to be applied for each various product as per standard /country regulations/agency requirements.
• Coordinate with the testing/certification agencies, track projects and lead them to a logical closure for all regulatory agency approvals activities for existing, modified and new product.
• Monitor standards develop and review products and advice engineers to ensure product compliance.
• Keep learning and researching standards and certification requirements for new applications or technology beyond traditional areas, get prepared to support new business area on certification demands.
• Establish and maintain reliable records on all aspects of the approval process.
• Resolve follow-up service, inspector variation notices from the agency including plant "shutdowns".
• Conducting training session on the agency requirement/standards to the internal teams.
• Supporting Sales, customer queries related to agency approvals and provide timely response.
• Ability to multitask, handling multiple projects and driving for project completion with multiple stakeholders is key for this role.
• Should be able to interact with global stakeholders (PM/Sales etc.), directly with Customers, and communicate technical details efficiently.
EDUCATION
• Years of Experience: + 8 years in Product Safety Certification Domain.
• Educational qualification: BE/BTECH Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering
CRITICAL EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES
• In depth knowledge of regulatory compliance process pertaining to electrical safety products and standards, on both components and end-products are in priorities, experience on standards UL1977, UL486, UL310, UL1059, IEC 61984, IEC 60335, IEC 61210 would be preferred.
• Strong understanding of engineering design practices, product development lifecycles, design change and technical specifications and ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams.
• Ability to recognize opportunities and propose practical solutions for improvements.
