TE Connectivity's Product Management Teams manage all aspects of a product, from driving new product development to manufacturing to marketing. They are responsible for overall product strategy, business leadership and capacity plans in order to meet sales and profit targets.

Responsibility:

ROLE OBJECTIVE

The Jr Product Manager assists the Product Manager in making sure that their product lines meet or exceed all the key performance indicators established during the annual strategic and operating planning processes. They will work across functions to manage all aspects of the product life cycle from strategic planning to day-to-day tactical activities, with an emphasis on supporting the tactical activities associated with running a product line, this role will also be responsible for NPD & NPI, will should be able to contribute to the Product P&L

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking against the product that are being launched & also w.r.t the current product portfolio
• Work with Engineering and operations to meet customer expectation & ensure demand is catered for the current backlog
• Work with sales to ensure that demand forecasting in IBP & keep track of new projects
• Should have sound knowledge on Rugged Fiber Optics including active and passive products, including Optical Connectors, Fiber Optic Cabel assemblies, Optical Flex, VITA modules
• Grow the existing business from the current market cap based on the analysis of TAM/PAM/SAM
• Work cross functionally to achieve sales, technology and operations strategies and goals, in line with financial goals
• Implement pricing policy as defined by lead PM(s) as per market & product portfolio
• Assist in the development of the annual operating plan (Sales and gross or standard margin)
• Create RTS requests for new product development projects for new bids/ enquiries
• Perform pricing analysis in preparation of catalogue price changes or in response to special pricing requests
• Should be able to co-ordinate and provide GTM (Go To Market) Strategy for the existing portfolio & upcoming projects/ products in alignment with business strategy
• Perform product cost and gross margin analysis
• Responding to requests for proposals and providing winnable quotes
• Analyse excess and obsolete inventory and take necessary actions
• Work closely with plants and planners to ensure seamless flow of orders to customers & vice versa
• Assist in championing the resolution of product issues, e.g. delivery, quality, inventory
• Works with Product Pricing team to ensure that the desired margins are achieved and guide on book pricing
• Issue product change notices and material change orders
• Work with engineering on launch of product
• Collaborate with Project Management to drive the new opportunities and get passed through the gates
• Meet AOP targets on the following KPI's
Booking
Sales
Gross Margin in $ and in %
Reduce PDR (Past Due Request)
Cost reduction targets
NPS1 (New product sales year 1)

Desired Candidate Profile:

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

• BE/ B.Tech (Electronic, Mechanical or any)
• Understanding and professional experience on Product Management
• Excellent communication
• Hands on experience on presentation skills

CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years' experience in field of Product Management
• Functional / Technical skills
• Relevant product or industry experience desired
• Strong knowledge on SAP and IBP
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Power point

COMPETENCIES
• Strong financial acumen - to analyze and taken product pricing decisions
• Ability to work with CFT (Cross Business Units).
• Able to demonstrate initiative and ability to make decision
• Strong analytical skills and ability to visualize and articulate the financial impact
• Strong Data Analytics skills -- Excel, SAP
• Keen attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent written and spoken English skills
• Good communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to determine priorities and take decisions.
• Building people capability: Training and mentoring with the necessary skill set
