Job Overview
The assignment will be to sustain products already in production supporting any quality, product extension, manufacturing, or cost saving (VA) projects. He/she will also be responsible to keep product documentation such as drawings, product specifications, packaging documentation & product conformity with global regulations. In certain cases, this individual will also be working closely with Product Managers to define potential product improvements, extensions, and road maps.

• Responsible for assigned VA projects execution & ability to promote new VA opportunities.
• Responsible for VA projects co-ordination & ability to promote new VA opportunities.
• Manage TEBIT (TE Business Improvement Tracker - Savings)
• Ability, experience, and interest in process improvements
• Partner with Procurement & Finance to account for predicted savings and track, validate, and post financial/operational results.
Product Engineering focused:
• Define test procedures based on requirements and/or customers or international/external specifications, assess results and provide conclusions.
• Define dimensions, tolerances & special characteristics based on customer requirements, intended application, best practices and experience.
• Design, test and implement creative & cost-effective packaging schemes for new and existing products.
• Seek out, identify, evaluate, and implement material, labor, efficiency, transportation & storage cost savings opportunities within ICT.
• Work with the packaging suppliers to request quotations & order packaging components samples.
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Materials, other engineering disciplines, Distribution Center, Component Warehouse, Product Managers and Procurement team members to establish packaging strategy or troubleshoot packaging problems both internally & externally.
• Ensure the packaging sustainability, environmental & regulatory policies are adhered to.
• Ensure product manufacturability.
• Responsible for fit, form and function of assigned products.
• Create & modify drawings/models.
• Create Engineering BOMs and release them using PLM system Windchill.
• Define and keep product performance documents, write, and maintain product specifications.
• Keep product engineering documentation up to date.
• Assess deviations and provide dispositions (production, quality, suppliers, etc.)
• Support Quality with 8D reports (3D to 5D being primary engineering)
• Define failure modes, root causes and corrective actions.
• Ensure that product performance is preserved throughout product life cycle.
• Interact in different levels (guiding, supporting, preparing presentations and information, following meetings, etc.) with manufacturing, quality, procurement as well as with customers and suppliers.
• Support manufacturing extension projects and relocation of tools globally
• Work with core team leaders (Project Managers) to provide timely & accurate information for the assigned project tasks.
• Ensure assigned project deliverables for gates are completed as per project plan.
• Follow the LEANPD guidelines for product extension developments and improvements.
• Support quality department with PPAP documentation
• Review and provide engineering decision on supplier's PPAP/Change request to Supplier Quality team.
• Responsible for customer notifications (PCN - from the decision to release).
• Coordination and execution of engineering samples, testing & validation.
• Any other as assigned by department manager.
What your background should look like:
Engineering degree in mechanical / plastics engineering technologies.
Experience :
o Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience with high volume manufacturing environment (plastic components, stamping terminals and connector assemblies)
o Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience working knowledge of CAD software (Creo/Solidworks or similar)
Desired skills:
