Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a sustaining product engineering group of 10-12 engineers and drafters
  • Actively lead & contribute to Product Development activities related to existing product extensions, derivates and standardization
  • Actively lead & contribute to Sustaining Engineering support for existing product lines
  • Improve existing product lines with Value Engineering initiatives to drive cost savings
  • Driving extraordinary customer experience by on-time delivery of product development activities
  • Technical support of existing product lines from within the global cross-functional team
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment
  • Drives results through collaboration, influence and direct reporting relationships
  • Collaborates with other colleagues and peers, drives effective collaboration with direct reports
  • Interacts and/or negotiates effectively with external and/or internal customers at all levels
  • Presents complex solutions, technical ideas and business case studies to executive level management with varying levels of technical knowledge
  • Provides training, coaching and mentorship to direct reports and other employees as needed
  • Demonstrates expertise within a specific professional discipline by integrating theory and principles with organizational practices and precedents into work
  • Develops solutions to complex problems which require high degree of ingenuity and innovation
  • Familiarity with utilizing lean methodologies to drive engineering and business initiatives
  • Adapts precedents and traditional approaches to develop solutions

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Engineering field) with 7-10 years hands-on manufacturing experience in a related field; or equivalent Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years experience with product development, sustaining product lines and/or value engineering
  • Preferred 5 years experience working within the subsea Oil & Gas industry
  • Preferred 3-5 years experience in directly managing personnel in an engineering environment
  • Able to deliver quality results without significant oversight and direction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others of diverse backgrounds
  • Willingness to shift priorities as business pressures demand
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite especially Excel
  • Proficient in 3D CAD/CAE software (SolidWorks and Creo Preferred)

We Value:

  • Experience with fiber optic and electrical connector cable assemblies
  • Experience with designing for subsea applications
  • Exposure to API 16D, API 17E, & API 17F
  • Exposure to DFSS, Six Sigma and other Lean Principles; with or without certification
  • Providing innovative solutions for our customer's harsh environment applications

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $129,100 - 193,700 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
