BU / FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
Digital Data Networks - We deliver products and solutions that are used in a variety of equipment architectures within the networking equipment, data center equipment, and wireless infrastructure industries. Additionally, we deliver a range of connectivity solutions for the Internet of Things, smartphones, tablet computers, notebooks, and virtual reality applications to help our customers meet their current challenges and future innovations.
Role Objective:
The role is to ensure TE products are compliant with internal and external policies related to restriction of hazardous substances and to manage customer requests for compliance and Conflict Minerals data.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Working experience dealing with environmental regulations such as EU REACH and ROHS
• Identify parts with issues and analyze root cause and provide solutions
• Track existing products and define the compliance level through appropriate coding.
• Align with corporate product compliance team to drive improvement through KPIs.
• Assist engineering, quality, and manufacturing and procurement personnel in resolving environmental compliance conflict mineral data requests.
• Support business team for customer inquiries related to Product Environmental Compliance and Conflict Minerals.
• Identify material/components claiming lead exemptions as part of RoHS exemption expiry.
• Working with ISS team to get supplier compliance info in TE systems.
Mandate Skills:
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE
• BE in Mechanical / Electrical, Chemistry or Material Engineering.
• Proficient with office software such as Excel, Word, and Acrobat
• Knowledge on tools like Tableau / Power BI is an added Advantage.
CRITICAL EXPERIENCE
• Min 1-2 years' experience in Product Environmental Compliance areas
• Demonstrated capability on leading a cross function team to resolve issues
• Good understanding of product development and manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in English speaking, writing, listening, and reading
• Experience with RoHS, and REACH regulations
• Knowledge of US Conflict Minerals regulations and the RMI a plus.
