Job Overview

TE Connectivity's CNC Machinists prepare detailed numerical control programs for use in production on numerical controlled machinery; they run the EDM, including programming, setup and operation. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the Machine Shop on a swing shift.
  • Ensure the Safety of all employees within the Machine shop by driving compliance with local policies and engagement with improvement activities
  • Drive a zero tolerance policy for scrap by ensuring all processes are accurately followed and issues raised accordingly.
  • Liase directly with the scheduling team to maximise delivery on time and proactively address upcoming changes in capacity and demand
  • Own the P&L for the shift, drive efficiency & productivity both by utilising OEE data and by optimising spend (e.g. tooling)
  • Improve engagement across the team, focus on crossfunctional skills development to create a flexible and engaged workforce
  • Conduct 1-1s and team meetings with direct reports to track performance and development objectives
  • Hold skip level meetings as required to ensure alignment and engagement through teams
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks as directed by the business from time to time.
  • Responsible for 3-5 team leaders on 1 shift
  • Reporting to the Ops Manager
