Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Quality Control and Reliability Teams ensure product and / or product components comply with specifications and quality standards. They test and inspect products against performance and integrity criteria to ensure product quality and reliability, and to determine the suitability of product release.

Incoming inspector is a member of the Supply Chain Department and reports to the Logistics Manager. They are responsible for ensuring that materials and parts are adequately inspected and/or tested to ensure they meet specifications and are fit for use. The position also requires strong technical knowledge to read complex component drawings and have the ability to measure these characteristics using relevant inspection equipment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Functional expert for Incoming Inspection Process; troubleshoot technical issues with respect to failings dimensional characteristics.
  • Read and understand/interpret drawings, specifications and established standard operating procedures. Determine acceptance or unacceptable material.
  • Review incoming inspection activity with a view to streamline and offer continuous improvement ideas.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintaining quality standards by visual and dimensional inspection of incoming materials in accordance with documented inspection procedures.
  • Ensure that all materials which require incoming inspection conform to all applicable drawings, procedures and specifications.
  • Liaise with the quality engineers with regards to rejected material, specifications and inspection equipment if required.

Key Requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of GMP practices, Knowledge of the use of inspection Equipment
  • Strong communication skills . Self motivated and an ability to take ownership of issues as they arise

What your background should look like:

  • Level 6+ technical qualification in mechanical engineering or similar discipline.
  • Previous experience of working in a medical device industry in a technical/quality capacity desired.
