Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding or assembly related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. They are experts in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, possessing extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of stamping / molding / assembly or other processes within the manufacturing environment.

Now we are seeking an experienced and innovative Global CoE Molding Leader to drive cutting-edge molding processes across our global automotive business. The successful candidate will leverage both existing and emerging technologies to establish and implement lean molding solutions, setting global standards and optimizing operational performance. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, inspire talent, and lead the charge in developing sustainable, cost-effective, and flexible molding solutions that align with our strategic objectives.

The role can be based in Shanghai or Suzhou

Key Responsibilities:

• Innovate & Drive Molding Excellence: Lead the creation of new concepts and innovative solutions for molding processes, applying a mix of technologies to eliminate waste and ensure operational efficiency.
• Lead Molding Projects: Identify, prioritize, and sponsor key projects within the CoE and Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Molding teams, ensuring alignment with capex budgets, lean principles, and material flow optimization.
• Benchmark & Collaborate: Utilize internal and external benchmarks to collaborate with equipment suppliers, toolmakers, and research institutions to drive continuous improvement.
• Global Standardization: Establish and implement global standard solutions for molding processes, ensuring consistency and best practices across all regions.
• Network Development & Training: Mentor and develop the CoE Molding network by providing training on problem-solving, new developments, and the adoption of lean principles to eliminate inefficiencies.
• Supplier Development: Collaborate with Procurement teams to support the development of molding suppliers, driving improvements in quality and cost.
• Plant Productivity & Cost Optimization: Support initiatives aimed at increasing plant productivity, material savings, and cost reductions through innovative molding technologies.
• Molding Technology Development: Align product roadmaps and customer needs to continuously develop and enhance molding technology capabilities.
• Performance Roadmaps: Develop and implement Manufacturing Performance Roadmaps, focusing on future cost reduction, capex management, and lead-time improvements in line with regional and global operational strategies.
• Talent & Diversity Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning, focusing on talent development, diversity, and expanding AI skillsets within the team.
• Effective Communication & Collaboration: Facilitate regular communication, workshops, and TechDays to share best practices and foster a culture of innovation, ensuring seamless adoption of new technologies and processes.

What your background should look like:

• Education: Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Polymer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years in engineering or process development roles, with at least 5 years in project management.
• Technical Expertise: Strong background in injection molding technology, including machines, tools, and processes. Experience with extrusion, compounding, and adjacent molding technologies is a plus.
• Operational Excellence: Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Innovation & Creativity: A strong, open mindset with a high level of creativity and the ability to think outside the box to solve complex challenges.
• Leadership & Influence: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire teams, lead by influence, and drive success in a matrix organization.
• Digital Expertise: Knowledge in equipment and tool design, control systems, and the integration of digital technologies and AI to enhance molding processes.
• Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently to collaborate with teams and stakeholders across regions.
• Language Skills: Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
