Position Overview
The Research Manager is an an integral member of the Educational Content & Research (EC & R) team who specializes in creating and managing multifaceted research projects, connecting with early childhood programs and staff to co-create research projects, and writing publishable research reports that inform the design and implementation of Teaching Strategies' products and informs the early learning field at the program and policy levels. The Research Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting and facilitating research initiatives within our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful research projects, collaborate with early childhood professionals and organizations, and make a significant impact on the advancement of knowledge within our field. As part of the EC & R team, the Research Manager will add to the organization's knowledge and analytical capacity about data and data use in the early learning field by leading the Research team with leveraging the data collected at various levels (e.g., district and state) throughout the country. The Research Manager is responsible for advancing Teaching Strategies' mission to generate new knowledge that contributes to stronger child and family outcomes, informed by practices from the early learning community.
Specific Roles & Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach to early learning programs to establish relationships that lay the foundation for research projects.
- Coordinate research projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Assist in the development of research proposals, including conducting literature reviews, defining research objectives, and preparing responses for grant applications.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify research needs and opportunities.
- Collect and organize data using appropriate research tools.
- Maintain research databases and repositories, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of data.
- Prepare research reports, presentations, and publications for internal stakeholders and external audiences.
- Coordinate logistics for research-related events, such as conferences, workshops, and seminars.
- Stay informed about relevant industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in research methodology.
- Provide administrative support to the research team, including scheduling meetings, managing budgets, and maintaining documentation.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive research culture by facilitating communication and knowledge-sharing among team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Occasional domestic travel required for in-person team, department, and company meetings

Qualifications:
- Passion for the Teaching Strategies mission of service to the early learning community
- Bachelor's degree in related field required; Master of Education degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience working in early childhood education with a track record of innovation
- Proven experience in research coordination or project management, preferably within a professional or academic setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively.
- Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
- Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision in all tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards in research conduct and data
- Ability to travel up to 20% with seasonal variations
- Capacity to design and execute multiple and constantly changing projects, with both creativity and high-quality work, on tight deadlines
