Job Description:
The VP, Consultant Relations will work closely with the Head of Global Consultant Relations and the other members of the Consultant Relations Team to manage TDGIS's relationships with the institutional consultant community. Depth & Scope:
- Engages with the relevant Client Portfolio Management ('CPM') and Portfolio Management ('PM') Groups to analyze, classify and communicate the key features, competitive strengths and differentiators of each of TDAM's investment strategies
- Works with the CPM and PM Groups to strategize, prepare for and attend consultant manager research meetings with the objective of maintaining and reinforcing existing positive consultant ratings and gaining new positive ratings
- Collaborates with the Presentations, Marketing, RFP and Database Completion teams to ensure that our desired messaging is effectively and consistently incorporated into all of our materials - presentations, supporting papers, RFP responses, white papers, fund brochures, etc.
- Helps to develop and maintain the strategic consultant engagement framework and communicate this to internal partners
- Participates in the development of materials and thought leadership activities to position our investment strategies strongly within the consultant market and to reinforce TDGIS's positive brand perception
- Responds to daily, ad hoc consultant queries and information requests
- Communicates effectively with consultants to help build their understanding of TDGIS's capabilities
- Gathers market intelligence and disseminate this internally
- Helps to maintain solid and productive working relationships with the Relationship Management, Business Development, PM/Investment, CPM, Product Development, Investment Support and Client Service teams
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required and a CFA and/or an Actuarial qualification preferred
- 7+ years of experience in an investment consulting, institutional sales, institutional marketing or relationship management environment
- A good understanding of how the consultant market functions and the services which consultants provide to the institutional client base
- TDGIS has a broad and developing product suite, therefore the role requires a solid working knowledge of a range of asset classes - both traditional and Alternative - and the roles these play in institutional portfolios
- An 'ownership' mindset and the ability to proactively identify issues, collaborate on resolutions and implement innovative solutions
- The ability to work across teams and manage through influence. We promote a team rather than an individual approach
- The ability to effectively manage multiple simultaneous assignments to successful implementation
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written - and the ability to tailor the messaging approach to the specific needs of the relevant audience
