Job Description

The Valuation and Risk Services team is looking for a Business Analysis Specialist to work with the Data platform team and market and credit valuation platforms to build an intraday risk management and reporting platform TD Securities.

The Intraday platform is responsible for the workflow, management, reporting and analytics tooling of market and credit risk of trading instruments (e.g. Interest Rate derivatives, FX, Credit, Commodity, equities), utilizing state of the art data lakehouses. This green field project started utilizing the latest in technology, devOps and approach to deliver highly scalable technology solutions that facilitate all parts of our business. The core team is located in New York and Toronto with a presence in London and Singapore.

The ideal candidate would be a self-starting, motivated and high-performing individual who looks forward to being a strong contributor in a dynamic technology organization at a major bank. This complex role is on a team of highly talented technologists delivering solutions to the global markets business and risk management, providing intraday analytical and reporting capabilities across a spectrum of financial products. The candidate will be required to contribute to the new build of the intraday platform, as well as effectively leverage and extend the Valuation Services (VS) platform and data platform, when required. The individual would be poised to represent the group well to external stakeholders, and possess the vision to make strategic decisions on behalf of the team. Additional requirements include providing a variety of related services for derived market data, trade data and other related data firm-wide.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review of project documentation, functional and non-functional requirements documents and business plans
  • Conduct data analysis and reconcile multiple data sources
  • Ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and presentation materials to support the decision making of executives
  • Communicate effectively throughout the organization and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Independently investigate and resolve client support issues.
  • Training new/existing clients and implementation teams on software.
  • Provide internal mentoring and input into the direction of product development.
  • Provide advice to clients on implementation/customisation requirements
  • Identification of bugs and writing of resolution test plans.
  • Design and create test cases for new software features
  • Interact and communicate with clients and implementation teams
  • Perform presentations on various methodologies, solutions and project results to clients

Education

Required: BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance or equivalent work experience

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience supporting and managing changes in Fixed Income, Interest rate derivatives, Credit, and FX systems and/or business space, preferably in a risk control or reporting function
  • Strong understanding of linear and non-linear interest rate and credit derivatives, Fixed Income, FX and Cash products
  • Experience using and building risk management and reporting systems
  • Experience working with quant analytical libraries
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to explain and present complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike
  • Executing queries, building use-case scenarios for business requests and small enhancements
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with competing demands
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle and release management processes
  • Working knowledge of Capital Markets technology platforms, including trade booking source systems and downstream reporting systems
  • Distinct ability and experience to lead data quality assessment and project implementation work gained through management experience
  • Experienced stakeholder management through both formal and informal means
  • Ability to influence outside the area of assigned formal authority; consequently, the person should be diplomatic and exhibit cultural and political awareness.
  • Experience with applications such as Calypso, Bloomberg and other Fixed Income market data and trade processing systems is a plus
