Job Description:

About This Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager who oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of Salesforce solutions, leading a team of developers and ensuring projects align with business needs and coding standards. You will be someone who will embrace a broad range of tasks associated with developing application and systems solutions to address business challenges. Sitting in this position will help expand your knowledge, strengthen your expertise and introduce you to the inner workings of our business alongside a team of seasoned, diversely-skilled technology professionals.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of Salesforce developers and technical leads.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
  • Communicate potential code overlap risks to developers.
  • Serve as an escalation point for development resources to address complex solutions.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of Salesforce solutions.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Track project performance and identify areas for improvement.

Technical Expertise:

  • Possess a strong understanding of Salesforce development best practices and coding standards.
  • Develop and maintain Salesforce workflows, Lightning components, and custom Apex code.
  • Implement and enforce coding standards and development processes.
  • Provide leadership and Salesforce expertise in the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns, and practices.
  • Translate functional requirements into technical requirements.
  • Application development, including basic Visualforce pages/Lightning pages, Lightning Web Components, assist with each release cycle to implement and deploy new/updates to existing applications and code,
  • Ensure unit, integration and user acceptance test plans, including use cases and test data are executed.
  • Architect, design, and implement highly scalable and efficient Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and other Salesforce platforms.
  • Develop complex business logic using Apex (Triggers, Batch Apex, Future methods, Queueable Apex, Platform Events) and optimize execution efficiency.
  • Build dynamic, reusable Lightning Web Components (LWC) with high performance and modular design.
  • Design and implement high-performance REST/SOAP APIs for seamless integrations with external systems (File storage, Data Warehouses, etc.).
  • Worked on OAuth, JWT, Named Credentials, and External Service integrations securely.
  • Utilize middleware solutions (MuleSoft) to build enterprise-grade integrations.
  • Experience with Kafka, Event-Driven Architecture, and Platform Events for real-time data streaming.
  • Ensure optimal system performance and scalability by following Salesforce governor limits and best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and implement Salesforce DevOps strategies.
  • Optimize large data processing using Big Objects, Async SOQL, Data Skew Management, and Indexing Strategies.
  • Implement Git-based branching strategies, automated deployments (using Jenkins/Bitbucket Pipelines).
  • Manage Salesforce DX (SFDX), Scratch Orgs, and unlocked packages for efficient release management.
  • Automate testing using Apex Test Classes, Jest for LWC.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, and establish best practices within the development team.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Advocate for continuous learning, process improvements, and innovation within the Salesforce ecosystem.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of Salesforce solutions.
  • Gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Job Requirements:

What can you bring to TD? Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:

  • Bachelor's/Postgraduate degree, a professional qualification, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role delivering Salesforce application projects.
  • 6+ years of experience in Salesforce Development
  • Knowledge of Apex Data Loader and Salesforce DX and experience with Lightning Web Components
  • Sound to advanced knowledge of the business, technical environment, standards, processes, procedures, programming languages and operating systems.
  • Readiness and motivation to address and resolve complex issues, guide/advise/support clients, partners and project teams, often working on multiple medium-to-large sized projects.
  • Commitment to and belief in the quality of your deliverables.
  • Experience with Financial Service cloud and banking industry experience
