Job Description:
The Senior Treasury ALM Analyst conducts and enhance reporting processes, controls frameworks, and/or produces forecast and analytics related to balance sheet asset and liability management (balance sheet and net interest income forecasting, interest rate risk measurement, funds transfer pricing, and/or reporting & technical analytics).
This role also provides analytical support to senior teammates regarding ongoing projects, as well as leadership regarding the work of the junior analyst team as a senior team member.
Depth & Scope:
- Proficient professional role requiring in-depth knowledge / expertise in Asset and Liability Management (ALM) and working knowledge of broader related areas
- Integrates the broader organizational context into advice and solutions within own area
- Applies best practices to implement process, product or service improvements
- Acts as a subject matter expert within their own area of specialty or a resource for others
- Leads projects of moderately to complex risk and resource requirements; lead end-to-end processes or functional programs
- Contributes to setting standards within area of expertise
- Solves complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, including consultation with multiple stakeholders
- Uses advanced methods to contribute to new solutions and recommend standards against which others will operate
- Works independently as the senior lead and guides others within area of expertise
- Identifies and leads problem resolution for complex issues at all levels
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience
Customer Accountabilities:
- Develops and maintains financial models that are used to generate risk measurement information used for ALM
- Develops, documents and maintains applications as assigned by management or as required
- Responsible for add and changes to the technology base, ensuring changes are implemented in an orderly and satisfactory fashion with minimal client service disruption
- Diagnoses and resolves problems of varying complexity
- Interacts with internal and external partners to gain the co-operation of others, and to provide expertise where required
Shareholder Accountabilities:
- Adheres to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities for the business area
- Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalates issues where appropriate
- Ensures respective programs / policies / practices are well managed, meet business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities
- Protects the interests of the organization - identifies and manages risks, and escalates non-standard, high risk activities as necessary
- Ensures business operations are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals and physical control of assets)
- Participates in cross-functional / enterprise / initiatives as a subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations
- Conducts internal and external research projects; support the development / delivery of presentations / communications to management or broader audience
- Monitors service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exists
- Actively manages relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and / or control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and / or regulatory requirements
- Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
- Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
