Department Overview:
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is responsible for building organizational capability in managing risk on a more integrated and comprehensive basis for the organization and for promoting a strong risk culture within TD. The team is accountable for the development and implementation of an enterprise risk management strategy, governance, policies and practices, reporting and operating frameworks, and operations associated with the Risk Management function.
TD applies the "Three Lines of Defence" model to risk management as defined in the Enterprise Risk Framework. As part of the second line of defence, the ERM team assures the appropriate design, implementation, and/or execution of (applicable components of) the TD risk management framework.
ERM collaborates with a broad network of business and risk management practitioners and other corporate functions in all jurisdictions where the Bank has business activities.
Job Description / Accountabilities:
Key accountabilities for the position, Senior Group Risk Specialist, Risk Programs and Scenario Analysis, include assuring the appropriate design, development, implementation and/or execution of (applicable components of) the Enterprise Business and Strategic Risk Scenario Analysis program. In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate with a broad network of business and risk management practitioners and other corporate functions in all jurisdictions where the Bank has business activities. This position reports to the Associate Vice President, Enterprise Risk Governance.
- Contribute to the successful design, development, implementation, execution and ongoing management of the Enterprise Business and Strategic Risk Scenario Analysis program across TD's business segments and corporate functions.
- Establish governance to oversee the quantification and reporting of business and strategic risk events, including integration with the Bank's Enterprise Wide Stress Testing and Integrated Planning processes.
- Facilitate workshop sessions with subject matter experts from the Business, Risk Management, Finance, etc. as appropriate, and perform sensitivity analysis to assess range of potential outcomes on earnings, capital and liquidity.
- Coordinate and work with stakeholders to develop clear, concise and consistent documentation of key assumptions and quantifiable outputs.
- Interpret scenario analysis and risk assessments and articulate facts, issues, gaps and key assumptions clearly and concisely at both a summary and detailed documentation level.
- Draft clear communications, standards/guidelines and procedures. Lead or facilitate sessions to establish operational/workflow procedures with partners.
- Participate in industry forums and keep up to date knowledge and understanding of business and strategic risks and industry best practices related to Scenario Analysis.
- Build knowledge of scenario analysis requirements, existing risk management practices and processes.
- Complete, maintain and update scenario analysis and related risk management process information and documentation to meet both internal (e.g. Internal Audit) and regulatory requirements.
- Keep abreast of changes in external loss events and trends. Gather and analyze risk data and interpret results and implications of these events to TD's businesses and scenario analysis process
- Support broader team deliverables such as, but not limited to, the a Enterprise the Risk Appetite Statement, Risk Appetite Scorecard and Enterprise Concentration Risk Program.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across all business segments and risk and control partners
The candidate will work collaboratively with all business partners to provide effective support and manage additional responsibilities as outlined above.

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- Widespread knowledge or experience in the Business and/or Risk Management, data analysis, process development and documentation
- Demonstrated leadership and proven ability to communicate with, challenge, and influence different levels of management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate complex issues in a clear, simple and understandable manner
- High degree of organizational awareness and experience in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and managing tight deadlines
- Natural curiosity who enjoys peer benchmarking and its impact on TD
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to dissect data and interpret results and observations
- Self-starter with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
- An enthusiastic, positive and cooperative individual who can work independently and function well in a team environment
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
