Senior Manager Profile

As Senior Manager you can expect to:

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering key initiatives within TDS Data Delivery and Innovation Team. The successful candidate will be responsible to plan, manage and deliver distinct initiatives through all specific phases, in alignment with business and enterprise strategies that reside within the Payments, AML, sanction screening and payments compliance space. The successful candidate will provide leadership, direction and coaching to team(s) while partnering with Technology and Operations teams to drive the modernization of our payments processes and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Manages projects with moderate to high regulatory oversight
  • Ensures end-to-end delivery of programs and initiatives Tier 1 - 3 (make-it-happen)
  • Production of a delivery operating model, inclusive of an end-to-end product roadmap, to maximize efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability for locally owned projects
  • Facilitates project execution through Rapid, TD Agile, and Waterfall delivery approaches as appropriate.
  • Accountable for key delivery decisions and aligning technology and business objectives into a shared delivery vision
  • Supports the Executive Sponsor and Business Owner in structuring and securing approval for business case and funding
  • Manage a team comprised of delivery professionals such as delivery managers, scrum masters and business/QA analysis
  • Accountable for challenging program estimates and supporting the team in removing any roadblocks during the estimation process, in alignment with the Estimation Framework
  • Ensure initiatives are delivered based on agreed scope, agreed timeline and approved budget
  • Establishes program governance structures for effective delivery orchestration, meeting TD's governance control objectives
  • Responsible for executing local projects across all domains to meet the stated success criteria and product value realization, with explicit consideration to business process, change impacts and the transition from delivery to business as usual
  • Accountable for establishing and executing processes and practices that support the appropriate project-level delivery framework (PDLC: requirements package, change management plan, testing plan, control processes for scope/requirements change)
  • Establishes and manages resource plan, issues, risks and financial plans
  • Create and maintain comprehensive delivery management artifacts as required by governance standards.
  • Coordinates with the respective enterprise control partners (e.g., EPDE, Strategic Sourcing Group, Legal, TRMIS, OCDO. etc.) to appropriately select, engage and manage external service providers as required
  • Builds and leads a large diverse business team to effectively deliver productivity, quality, and innovation
  • Manage initiatives through to completion including Planning, Execution, Control and Closure of initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • Outstanding record of project delivery success, preferably in Capital Markets and Regulatory related initiatives
  • Experience and strong subject matter expertise in Capital Markets and Large Regulatory Change/AML/Sanctions ideally with experience managing change projects in this space
  • Strong understanding of Operations functions (confirmations, settlements, cash reconciliation, etc) is preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of project management including strong working knowledge of delivery methodology and collaboration tools including JIRA and Confluence and using Agile approaches.
  • Should have at least 2 years' experience with project delivery/scrum coaching through leading streams and/or representing a business in a large program.
  • Exposure to financial management with respect to tracking, forecasting and managing project budgets.
  • Strong leadership skills lead by example, champion change and develop a highly motivated team to consistently exceed expectations
  • Ability to make an impact, influence and achieve results with effective negotiation, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Pro-active in developing and implementing strategies that significantly mitigate delivery risk
  • Superior inter-personal skills including conflict resolution, influencing and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading diverse, high performing teams
  • Team player with ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners
  • Ability to create and foster a cohesive team and promote a positive work environment for all employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently apply expert judgment with available information when proposing solutions/recommendations.
  • Ability to progress on multiple priorities concurrently while navigating unfamiliar territory and ambiguous/evolving circumstances.
  • Aptitude for amalgamating and interpreting large volumes of information, identifying key clarifications required, and formulating next steps to proceed.
  • Willingness to learn on-the-fly and evolve the stakeholder engagement model.
  • Excellent organizational skills (ability to employ systematic approach for identifying and tracking dependencies, ensuring proper resolution of outstanding items, and structuring meetings/discussions).
  • Ability to make business decisions based upon sound judgement to determine which issues to escalate vs. to resolve independently, and provide suggestions for possible resolution
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent initiatives as and when required

Specific Education Requirements:

  • University degree or equivalent
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM or CSP designation preferred
  • Certified Agile Coach or Scrum Master is an asset
