Job Description:

TD Securities provides a wide range of capital market products and services to corporate, government and institutional clients who choose us for our knowledge and experience in six key areas of finance: Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, Institutional Equities, Private Equity, Precious Metals and Foreign Exchange & Money Market. Our services include the underwriting and distribution of new debt and equity issues, providing advice on strategic acquisitions and divestitures, and executing daily trading and investment needs. The global Electronic Trading Support team is responsible for providing Global Support to the TD Securities FI eTrading and Front office businesses located in major financial centers including Toronto, New York, London and Singapore.

The IT Support analyst position interacts with all users of Front Office, Finance & Operations, Back Office, Treasury Credit, and Risk Management to develop and implement lasting and robust technology solutions as well as support the existing application and surrounding framework.

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

• Supporting & delivering solutions to the firm's Fixed Income Trading & Sales desks in North America

• The Analyst will join an experienced team, responsible for managing applications that offer pricing, risk, electronic / algorithmic trading and trade capture functionalities to the Business.

• The role will initially involve 1st and 2nd line application support responsibilities, offering engagement with a broad range of stakeholders across Front & Middle Office, Product Control, Risk Management, Back Office, Application Development and

Infrastructure teams.

• Training will be provided, though given the nature of the role, the successful candidate is expected to have a 'hands on' attitude and be proactive to enhance their knowledge.

• Systems and applications comprise vendor and in-house built tools, with PnL &Risk management systems. - Periodic on-call support and shift work required.

• This is a dealer facing role and new hire is expected to come in office not a hybrid or a wfh role.

Job Requirements Specific Educational Requirements:

• Experience supporting Trading, Pricing, and risk management applications

• Experience supporting front-to-back Trading Systems and Trading Desks

• Should be comfortable assessing trading systems/components to investigate trade breaks, connectivity, and data issues. Understanding of Bloomberg TOMS, ION trade capture systems.

• Understanding of financial markets and products, in particular Fixed Income, Interest rate products • Understanding of electronic trading, markets, connectivity, market making, and algorithmic/automatic trading.

• Must have proven experience working with developers, business analysts, and systems support team. • Working experience in with the following technologies: Linux, Windows Server, Oracle, SQL

Category Computer skills:

• Strong Fixed Income functional knowledge particularly treasuries and bond trading expertise

• Scripting, SQL and / or experience in Programming Languages

• Knowledge of IT project & development lifecycles (SDLC), agile methodology and ITIL

• Strong analytical skills and Interpersonal skills

The Senior IT Support Analyst TDB designs and develops quality solutions for program/system issues consistent with project objectives and client requirements, and follow technology architecture standards.

Depth & Scope:

  • Conducts program/system research, analysis, design and problem resolution
  • Ensures defect free programming by testing and debugging using available/appropriate tools and participates in reviewing peer coding
  • Participates in identifying and recommending development/testing solutions/tools in support of project objectives
  • Develops, implements, maintains and improves solutions/processes that maximize system availability, efficiency/effectiveness and minimize/prevent problems/issues
  • Adheres to existing processes/standards, technology architecture, risk and production capacity guidelines and objectives; plans, monitors, tests and escalates issues as required
  • Works with the architecture group to ensure good architectural design and raises issues as they develop through the project lifecycle in a timely manner
  • Complies with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC) by participating in scope assessment, risk and cost analysis
  • Subject matter expert in at least one area of discipline and consults with clients/or project teams with respect to all aspects of research, analysis, design, hardware/ software support, development of technical solutions and/or testing
  • Works independently in a senior/lead role on a diverse range of tasks and may be relied upon to coach/ educate others
  • Leads the development of detailed/ complex and/or comprehensive project plans for large projects
  • Assignments are moderately to highly complex and multi-faceted
  • May provide guidance/direction to a few IT professionals
  • Acts as a resource in the exchange of technical information for project teams, the business and/or outside vendors
  • Develops and operationalizes technology standards, policies and processes to address BSA/AML/OFAC risks
  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC risks related to technology projects and processes
  • Keeps direct reports informed about relevant information on BSA/AML/OFAC requirements and escalation procedures

Education & Experience:

  • College degree, or specialized training / equivalent work experience
  • 3+ Years of related experience
  • Advanced knowledge of the technical environment/ tools (e.g., user environment, applications, software, hardware, programming languages and operating systems) in own area
  • Advanced knowledge of business processes and procedures on a broad, organizational level
  • Sound to advanced knowledge of business/ organization, Bank standards, infrastructure, architecture and technology in related areas from a design/ support/ solutions perspective
