The Enterprise Non-Trading Market Risk (ENTMR) team is part of the dynamic Market Risk team and continues to grow. As second line of defense, The Market Risk team is responsible for providing independent oversight and challenge of the Bank's non-trading market risk.

ENTMR's mandate includes:
• Developing a strategic and respected independent governance and oversight risk management team
• Setting the Bank's NTMR risk appetite working with the first line of defense, and developing & maintaining risk frameworks where limits are respected and consistent with the Bank's risk appetite
• Setting the second line of defense governance structure, including the decision-making model and the roles & responsibilities of all NTMR stakeholders

• Proactively evaluating the Non-trading Market risk structure, and identifying relevant emerging risks and industry standards
• Providing independent oversight over risk measures, which includes independent review, challenge, and approval of scenario designs, measurement input (e.g., assumption, methodologies...) and review of results

• Providing oversight of risk within the Bank, with all significant risks and results appropriately measured and made transparent to the CRO TDBG, Senior Management, and the Risk Committee of the Board

• Influencing business solutions to incorporate risk management views in planning and execution
• Maintaining an effective relationship with regulators to maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements while proactively addressing regulatory expectations

Job Description:

The role requires an individual with experience and/or knowledge of treasury and risk management functions at a financial institution. The accountabilities of the Senior Analyst role include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing in depth technical expertise in the oversight and challenge of non-trading market risk across the Enterprise (Retail Bank and Wholesale Bank)
  • Keeping up-to-date on emerging issues and evolving regulatory requirements to develop and review Non-trading Market Risk policies and frameworks
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key Business Partners and represent ENTMR in various forums and committees.
  • Supporting valuation issues including Independent Price Verification (IPV)
  • Providing oversight and thought leadership to key assumptions through expertise and highly specialized knowledge of analytical concepts and techniques.
  • Supporting key initiatives including Framework/Policy reviews, second line NTMR measurement oversight, NTMR and Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) related assumption reviews, and of NTMR stress testing framework
  • Understanding the requirements of the new Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) standards and their implication to the Bank
  • Proactively build awareness of key risk issues by educating business leaders and providing training to the team
  • Understand and comply with TD policies, regulatory, and compliance requirements
