Department Overview

The TD FATCA and CRS team aims to foster a culture of integrity, and ethics and compliance, while also delivering independent regulatory compliance risk management and oversight along with other second line partners throughout TD globally.

Job Description

As a member of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) & Common Reporting Standard (CRS) team within Global Compliance, this position will contribute to the delivery of the key accountabilities supporting FATCA and CRS regulatory compliance from a second line of defence perspective across TD globally.

As part of the key accountabilities of the role, the Senior Analyst will:

  • Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the FATCA and CRS program including specific artifacts, policies, forms, and documents to continuously enhance governance and compliance oversight
  • Contribute to the monitoring and communication of regulatory changes and any emerging trends and developments, both within Canada and globally
  • Assist businesses in navigating FATCA and CRS regulations, including optimizing processes to take advantage of synergies and accommodating differences with, these two types of legislation and regulations as necessary
  • Support the maintenance of TD legal entities information for FATCA and CRS assessment purposes
  • Assist with the coordination of the annual enterprise Responsible Officer Certification process and artifacts
  • Contribute to Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) oversight function accountabilities
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes to effectively manage FATCA CRS regulatory risk
  • Assist with special projects and sundry activities as assigned including but not limited to FATCA and CRS regulatory initiatives
  • Contribute to and promote positive working relationships by effectively communicating and regularly sharing information, issues/points of interest, learnings, and knowledge with the team

Other Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience:

  • University or Post-Graduate degree; professional accounting/auditing/risk management designation would be considered an asset
  • 2 years of relevant experience (Risk, Audit, Compliance preferred)
  • Previous FATCA and CRS experience would be a definite asset
  • Prior experience in compliance, audit or risk management within the financial services industry is preferable
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Flexibility to quickly adapt to changing and ambiguous initiatives or requirements and ability to work collaboratively across functions and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, as well as confident presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and MS Visio
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to deal with conflicting points of view and to effect creative and responsive solutions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities, and escalate issues where appropriate
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and MS Visio are an asset.

Education and Accreditation

  • Undergraduate degree (or equivalent)
  • 3+ years relevant experience in a Legal, Compliance and/or Risk Management function
