Reporting to the Manager, Business Intelligence & Reporting, the Sr. Business Intelligence & Reporting Analyst will provide specialized BI and Reporting expertise and support for Personal Banking Lending Product Teams. This role is considered a subject matter expert in BI and Reporting and is accountable for the development, adoption and ongoing evolution of a best-in-class reporting and/or BI capabilities and also deliver on ad-hoc requests and projects as assigned. This role will deliver reports, dashboards, scorecards with key metrics, visualizations, insights, and commentary to provide a comprehensive and holistic view of our businesses.

Job Requirements: The person in this position will be expected to

  • Produce specialized reporting packages, dashboards and scorecards for businesses, with focus on the following functional areas: to understand objectives and deliver insights and commentary that can inform and shape product design and development, customer engagement, account management and business decision-making
  • Experience with enterprise RDBMS, Big Data management technology, Azure Cloud and the process of Extract Transform Load (ETL)
  • Solid programming principles with Python, SQL
  • Highly skilled in the use of visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI to develop comprehensive frameworks for reporting packages and dashboards utilizing data infrastructure, tools and external data sources
  • Experience manipulating large volume of complex data from disparate sources
  • Adopt, implement and effectively evolve report automation standards
  • Identify, recommend and execute opportunities to eliminate or consolidate existing reports and leverage existing report usage tracking data
  • Work in a consultative role to provide "value-added" insights in the form of analysis, visualizations, interpretation and advice
  • Liaise with business stakeholders to conduct effective discussions on project/reporting needs, data specifications, priority and timeline to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Ensure the creation and ongoing maintenance of documentation for key BI & Reporting processes and deliverables.
  • Strong communicator with excellent oral, written skills and experience presenting to senior executives
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in project and software development life cycles in preparation of project artifacts (eg. business requirements, design specifications, test documents, etc)
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience in data governance, data standard & policies an asset
  • Desire to keep current with industry best practices and search for new and innovative ways to manage and visually present data

Additional Information Business Intelligence and Reporting experience (business-as-usual as well as ad-hoc)

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with team members build strong relationships within and across teams, peers, and business partners
  • Adhere to internal policies /procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines, contribute to the review of internal processes and activities and assist in identifying potential opportunities to improve operational efficiencies
  • Identify variances and contribute to the analysis, due diligence and implementation of initiatives and/or business operations within defined area of responsibility
  • Support development and/or/implementation of standards, policies, procedures, and solutions that mitigate risk and maximize availability of service, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a direct marketing, consulting, analytics, or agency-side role in financial services/telecom (or other high volume direct marketing industries)
  • Knowledge of SQL; knowledge of databases and data structures; knowledge of vendors and file format requirements
  • Experience designing successful direct marketing experiments
  • Degree in business, science, Engineering, or quantitative discipline
  • Graduate or undergraduate degree in quantitative discipline such as management analytics, statistics, mathematics, operations research, economics, computer science, or engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an Analytic role with a Financial Institution
  • Highly skilled in the use of statistical programming software including SQL and advanced data mining
  • Experience manipulating large volume of complex data from disparate sources
