Department Overview
Wealth Business Architecture encompasses the end-to-end lifecycle of defining and realizing the target state business capabilities, which enable TD Wealth strategic priorities. This includes how all business processes and key enablers are aligned and utilized, to deliver a seamless client and employee experience, while ensuring adherence to all regulatory and risk/control requirements. This team works in close collaboration with all Wealth Business Units (Direct Investing, Advice and Asset Management) along with key partners such as Platforms, Operations, Governance and Control and Vendors.
Our primary focus is to lead the strategic design and development of future-proof business capabilities that empower colleagues, enhance customer experiences and streamline operations. Job Description:
The successful candidate will be accountable for formulating the end-to-end vision for the Pan-Wealth Strategy to enable future business Journey and Platform objectives. This will entail encompassing the end-to-end life cycle of each business service including the strategic roadmap and/or business process changes and the sustainment model. These business capabilities roll up into the overarching Business Architecture vision that will shape the Wealth businesses moving forward.
Job Requirements:
Reporting to the Associate Vice President in the E2E Capability Build & Operational Readiness & Effectiveness and Journeys, the responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Drive Innovation & Strategic Transformation
- Design the target state for the capabilities owned, demonstrating how it will achieve strategic business outcomes, while collaborating with other partners
- Develop the long-term roadmap of initiatives that will achieve the target state directly owning the business rationale for each initiative (cost/benefit, strategic alignment, etc.)
- Identify and implement process improvements that reduce costs or create capacity within capabilities assigned
- Provide Investment recommendations, based on business priorities and support implementations to accelerate transformation
- Stay up-to-date with industry knowledge and participate in industry committees and/or conferences
Engage
- Proactively engage user groups and business leaders to ensure that capability solutions are fulfilling on their evolving needs
- Manage vendor partners, as applicable, to ensure ongoing alignment to the assigned capability's needs and to the long-term strategic road and architecture vision
Support
- Manage the ongoing sustainment model for the capabilities owned
- Manage issues or escalations in relation to the capabilities within your portfolio
Measure / Monitor
- Clearly define capability success metrics around overall effectiveness for capabilities assigned
- Develop portfolio dashboard, for capabilities assigned, that could include testimonials and portfolio metrics for reporting to business lines
- Actively seek feedback from users and support areas
Evolve
- Understand the Vendor landscape, identifying best-in-class solution providers and opportunities emerging in the industry
- Understand how the businesses use the tool/program and their key needs to enable business strategy; identify opportunities for reusability, scalability, innovation and enterprise-wide solutions
Lead
- Guide and direct a team of Business Analysts/Architects, providing coaching, mentoring and development opportunities
- Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues

Qualifications / Skills / Experiences:
- Creative thinker that can conceptualize ideas that align to strategic vision
- Proven product management abilities - can manage the full life cycle of a product / capability
- Strong business background and sound experience in the Wealth industry,
- Experience in providing delivery leadership and driving successful business outcomes
- Leadership skills with the ability to impact and influence individuals and teams The successful candidate must have superior presentation skills
- Proven ability to effectively communicate complex issues
- The ability to bring a client and employee experience point-of-view
- Excellent relationship management abilities and team building skills
- Experienced meeting facilitator
- Proficiency of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio
Special Education Requirements / Accreditations
- Undergraduate degree
- Canadian Securities Course /Options Licensing Course an asset
- Experience with Agile an asset (specifically acting as a Product Owner)
- Financial Services Industry designations considered an asset
