Department Overview
TD Direct Investing ("DI") is Canada's largest online investing provider, empowering self-directed investors and traders with its full spectrum of powerful solutions to manage their investments with ease and confidence. The DI Product, P&L Management and Competitive Intelligence team is responsible for in-depth P&L drivers analysis, pricing strategy, market and competitive landscape reviews and developing and implementing revenue growth and P&L optimization initiatives. To deliver against this mandate, the team partners with colleagues across the DI business, DI journey, Wealth Shared Services, TBSM, ED&A, and Marketing.

Job Description
Reporting to the Manager, Competitive Intelligence, the Senior Analyst, Competitive Intelligence will support the delivery of competitive insights and identifying key market trends to enable the ongoing optimization and development of business strategies.
Key accountabilities include:
- Gather and analyze internal data and external information, to understand relative performance and generate actionable performance insights and management recommendations.
- Conduct competitive research and understand different industry practices, considering perspectives of various client segments and channel preferences, and spanning all stages of the investor lifecycle.
- Prepare structured analyses, often in time-sensitive circumstances, and be able to summarize key insights into a coherent, concise communication suitable for executive consumption.
- Partner and collaborate with colleagues across Direct Investing, Wealth, Finance, AI2, and other areas within the Enterprise.
- Build understanding of DI business results and underlying performance drivers, across multiple dimensions such as demographic, customer relationship, geographic, platform, and behavioral traits.
- Develop expertise in querying data sources to obtain relevant data to enable deeper analysis and the generation of value-added insights.
- Participate fully as a member of a motivated, collaborative team - support a positive work environment, embrace challenges, and pursue continuous learning and improvement.
Job Requirements
- Post-secondary undergraduate degree, preferably with a business or finance related program.
- Minimum 2 years of post-undergraduate experience in business, strategy, consulting or financial institutions; experience and knowledge of the Online Brokerage or Wealth Management would be an asset.
- Knowledge of and familiarity or hands-on experience with self-directed investing platforms would be considered a major asset.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including experience developing business documents and executive presentations with clear, concise, compelling communications and recommendations.
- Proficiency in data querying, processing, and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Alteryx, Tableau) preferred.
- Ability to understand business questions and issues, think strategically and synthesize information quickly.
- Comfortable in operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment, while willing to voice an opinion.
- Ability to independently manage deadlines while multitasking between different projects; strong results-oriented project management skills with a high attention to detail.
