Job Description:

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

TD Corporate Functions are integral and trusted partners to businesses across the Bank, made-up of diverse teams with a range of strengths and capabilities contributing to TD's overall success. The Corporate Functions Indigenous Peoples Internship Program is intended to recognize outstanding Canadian post-secondary students (both academically and with respect to extra-curricular and / or community service), who identify as an Indigenous person (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities) with world class early career experiences. This co-op/ intern role will include an opportunity to work in-person, virtually or hybrid, in one of the following corporate functions (pls indicate your top 3 preferences in your application)

Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses at TD. The Enterprise Liquidity Risk (ELR) is part of the Financial Risk Management. As a second line of defence, ELR is responsible for providing independent oversight and challenge of the Bank's Treasury in its execution of liquidity risk management activities. ELR's mandate includes:

  • Oversee and challenge the first line's liquidity risk practices through an in-depth understanding of business objectives, risks, and regulations.


  • Challenge business decisions to incorporate risk views in planning and execution.


  • Proactively identify and assess relevant emerging risks and industry best practices.


  • Develop and maintain risk frameworks and policies, consistent with the Bank's Risk Appetite.


  • Report to Senior Management, CRO TDBG, and the Risk Committee of the Board on material Liquidity Risk exposures.


  • Maintain and continue to develop an effective relationship with regulators to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements while proactively addressing regulatory expectations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Risk Analyst will report to the Senior Manager, ELR, and assist in fulfilling the team's mandate.

Key accountabilities include, but not limited to:

  • Review and challenge treasury's assumptions, treatments and methodologies used in the measurement of liquidity risk.


  • Assess and challenge appropriateness of stress testing scenarios.


  • Monitor emerging issues and evolving regulatory requirements and support Senior Manager in developing appropriate risk responses.


  • Support Senior Manager in preparing reports for senior risk executives.


  • Administer risk oversight activities.


  • Develop ad-hoc risk analyses as required.


  • Understand and comply with TD policies, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Identify as an Indigenous person (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities)
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/Commerce or related field


  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term.


  • Effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) with a diverse group of stakeholders.


  • Take initiative to proactively identify problems, propose solutions and effect desired outcomes.


  • Build relationships with business partners and stakeholders and help support enterprise objectives.


  • Demonstrate some knowledge of banking and capital markets and have a keen interest to learn more.


  • Utilize software tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and basic programming languages skills such as SQL) to efficiently solve business problems.


  • Have strong work ethic and work well under pressure.


  • Pursue on-going learning and be enthusiastic about finding creative solutions to complex problems.


  • Have the aptitude and interest in data and gaining insights by using existing and/or building ad-hoc analytical tools to facilitate deep dives in understanding risk drivers and business behaviors.


  • Exhibit professionalism and integrity.

  • This position is a 4-month work term and will commence May 5th - August 29th, 2025.
