Department Overview

The TDAF Credit Risk Strategy Team is responsible for the development and execution of risk strategies and initiatives that will assist our TDAF business partners to achieve growth and profitability targets while maintaining the overall risk quality of our lending portfolios. Accountabilities include providing monitoring and oversight of a highly dynamic and exciting portfolio, supporting policy changes and risk strategy enhancement.

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, TDAF Credit Risk Strategy, the Senior Risk Analyst will implement and monitor the Credit Risk strategy enhancements for the TDAF portfolio.

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment and will be part of a learning culture where ongoing development is encouraged

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Participate in development, design, testing and verification of TDAF Auto Adjudication Acquisition Strategies
  • Regularly monitor performance of existing and new strategies, in terms of both the rate of auto-adjudication versus expectations and historical levels, and the on-book performance of loans which are funded through the various implemented strategies.
  • Represent Retail Risk Management as a subject matter expert in the planning of new initiatives and product launches for TDAF
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders including Risk Infrastructure and Reporting Team, TDBFG Risk, TDAF Product group and external vendors
  • Provide insights and analysis that will identify origination and delinquency trends and inform revenue enhancement and loss mitigation decisions

Job Requirements

This role requires a combination of technical skills, project management, business knowledge and interpersonal skills:

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong ownership mentality and can do attitude
  • Flexibility and resilience to execute in an agile environment, including the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong presentation and communication skills

Technical Skills:

  • High Proficiency in SAS, SQL and Python, familiarity with Tableau, R; prior experience in machine learning would be considered a strong asset
  • High Proficiency in MS Office: Excel (Pivot tables and etc.), Word and PowerPoint
  • Computer programming background (i.e. Visual basic, C or other) is an asset

Business Knowledge:

  • 4-5 years of Credit Risk Management Experience in a financial institution or similar
  • Understanding of retail credit products, policies and processes, TDAF experience is a strong asset
  • Demonstrated analytical, reporting and problem solving skills

Education and Accreditation

  • Post-secondary degree is required (preferably in a quantitative field: i.e. Math, Statistics, Computer Science or similar).
  • A Master's Degree is considered to be an asset.
