SSG's role is global in scope and is comprised of approximately 160 people located in various TD locations across North America that collaborate closely with our business partners across the organization. The SSG team is in the midst of a journey, and more broadly across the organization, to transform the way we do sourcing, purchasing and vendor management. We are currently replacing our third-party applications with a best-in-class tool set that will generate efficiencies through the end-to-end Source-to-Pay process. The user-base spans the entire enterprise, including SSG, vendor management offices, business stakeholders, and third parties (suppliers). The suite is comprised of technologies that support the Source-to-Pay lifecycle in its entirety, including:

  • SAP Ariba Sourcing and Contracting
  • SAP Ariba Supplier Lifecycle and Performance
  • SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing
  • SAP Ariba Spend Visibility
  • SAP Fieldglass
  • Coupa Risk Assess Third Party Risk Management

The Transformation team driving the Program will continue with the journey post deployment to transform, improve and implement new procurement tools and processes at TD.

Position Overview

As a Product Owner for SAP Ariba, this role is responsible for supporting the remaining solution delivery and implementation of the SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing Module and will play a key role in supporting the ongoing business activities to continue transforming TD into an industry leader in all procurement capabilities. The Product Owner will be part of a team of individuals with subject matter expertise across all aspects of SSG's applications and processes, along with other specialized skills including, business architecture, data management, integration, and procurement systems proficiency.

Reporting to and working closely with the SSG Program Design Lead, this individual will initially be responsible for delivering various aspects of the transformation program focused on the successful implementation of the SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing tool and enhancements being made to the newly released SAP Ariba Sourcing and Contracting Module. Post implementation, the primary responsibility of this role will be to support the ongoing transformation and enhancements to the Buying and Invoicing module. In this capacity, this role works with partners at all levels across the bank, including organization subject matter experts, key members of SSG and external suppliers, to continue to develop, design, and implement TD's end-to-end procurement solution.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Act as an authority for SSG application (SAP Ariba) design and processes. Implement improvements to ensure applications are highly optimized and deliver a value-add service to all users.
  • Understand and contribute to the business strategy by supporting tactics for SAP Ariba development. Offer advice / guidance/ recommendations/ solutions and consulting at a broad functional level based on product research, reporting and analysis.
  • Recommend and champion strategies to enhance the customer experience.
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with key partners to understand their business strategies, ensuring applications are developed and delivered in a manner to meet business requirements and stakeholder needs.
  • Conduct system impact assessments (on stakeholders, operations & financials) when prioritizing and reviewing proposed changes and enhancements affecting SSG applications and processes.
  • Act as an escalation point for end-user, process or operational issues, and further escalate as required to management. Liaise with various partners and stakeholders in the resolution of issues.
  • Support the release management and system testing activities when deploying new functionality.
  • Support Change Management activities including the review and development of training material, jobs aids, and procedures for new products and/or processes.
  • Provide analysis on large unstructured sets of data found in multiple systems, to identify gaps and opportunities as part of the overall data strategy.
  • Support the development of employee and customer facing presentations to facilitate decision making and help deliver key stakeholder messages.

Experience Skills And / Or Education

  • Undergraduate degree in math, business, or information services and / or product management certificate
  • Require a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience supporting/managing Procurement Applications such as Ariba/ Fieldglass or other end to end(E2E) procurement tool and E2E Source-to-Pay process.
  • Experience or knowledge in automating processes and developing related algorithms.
  • Prior experience required in defining business processes and requirements for large complex Source-to-Pay or other transformation initiative(s).
  • Experience in implementing, supporting and optimizing large IT business solutions.
  • Experience using SAP Ariba P2P solutions, such as invoice management, Catalog creation, Contract Compliance.
  • Demonstrated influencing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and analytics tools such as Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Working in a Canadian Financial Institution is an asset.
  • 7+ years relevant experience, including 3+ years Product Owner or Agile related delivery experience.
  • SAP Ariba S2C certification/experience will be an asset.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification and project management experience considered an asset.
