TD Securities, the wholesale trading subsidiary of TD Bank is seeking a self-starting, motivated and high-performing individual to become a strong contributor in its dynamic technology organization. This is a high impact and complex role that will require the individual to interface with technology, audit, risk management and operations teams regularly.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive Platform Specialist to join the TDS Data Platform team. The ideal candidate will support our engineering team in navigating a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, ensuring that our data platform complies with audit and risk governance standards and controls. You will play a key role in managing cross-functional initiatives, interpreting enterprise and regulatory standards and policies, and directly supporting risk management and audit deliverables.
What we are looking for in you as a candidate:
- Confidence and ability to navigate complex processes, autonomously work on multiple deliverables with tight deadlines requiring specialist knowledge
- Talent in quickly developing trust in cross-functional relationships, being able to guide and influence multiple teams across a broad spectrum of audit and risk initiatives
- Keen focus on problem solving and ability to quickly learn technical details of data platform's applications, configurations, and workflows
- Strong desire in driving changes and shaping the future of how TDS Data Platform operates
Key Responsibilities:
- Support engineering teams in the completion of audit and compliance deliverables, ensuring that risks are identified, tracked, and mitigated, and all deadlines are met
- Interpret and apply enterprise frameworks and methodologies, governance standards, regulatory policies and procedures; translate them into actionable tasks for engineering teams
- Provide guidance to engineering leads and senior stakeholders on how to integrate governance controls into system design and workflows
- Develop deep familiarity with the platform's applications, configurations, and workflows to identify areas that require improvement or additional controls
- Support implementation and post-implementation planning and activities.
- Provide operational / process-related analysis and support to engineering leads
- Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders including engineering leads, BSAs, compliance teams, and auditors to ensure smooth execution of platform initiatives.
- Drive regular check-ins and progress updates, ensuring clear communication across teams and partners
- Advocate for TDS Data Platform team and manage relationships with Enterprise and risk and governance partners
- Own your reputation as a subject matter expert in risk and audit initiatives and providing guidance for complex situations
- Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with leading-edge technology trends/developments and develop expertise in TD services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools and techniques that can contribute to effective solution development/delivery
- Continuously enhance knowledge of TD Securities business domains and their products/services
- Drive operational excellence of TDS Data Platform by grounding strategic initiatives in line with governance and control requirements
Qualifications / Skills / Experience
Essential:
- 7+ years relevant experience working in IT, cloud or data related domains
- Understanding of SDLC
- Jira, Bitbucket, Collaborate experience
Nice to have:
- Working knowledge of Azure
- Having worked in an agile environment and familiarity with scrum
- Past experience working on/with audit and governance functions
