Job Description:
Manager, Wealth Tax Operations
Overview
TD Wealth Operations is part of Wealth Shared Services and is the operational engine of TD Wealth. Wealth Operations supports all TD Wealth distribution channels, TD Mutual Funds, TD Asset Management, and TD Securities. TD Wealth Operations goal is to be recognized as an industry leader in Operational Excellence; providing Legendary Partner and Client experience leading by best employee experience, focusing on process and productivity enhancement and effectively managing risks and controls.
Job Accountabilities
- Oversee a team of 5 professionals responsible for the timely delivery of client tax reporting (with added agency staff for tax season), including execution and maintenance of withholding tax remittances and reconciliations with Canadian tax authorities of applicable tax accounts.
- Lead the production of various registered tax products specializing in T4RSP/RIF, T4As, T4FHSA, TFSA, NR4s, and T3 Returns for tax production. Uncashed cheques and unclaimed property reporting. Coordinate activities and timelines across multiple teams including Vendors, Technology and Business Architecture to ensure tax slip production is completed within SLAs.
- Oversee the quality verification activities for tax reporting including performing annual user acceptance testing (UAT) prior to production.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual health check reports/ data validation to assist in the accuracy of annual reporting.
- Liaison with businesses to coordinate business specific tax requirements for Customers.
- Liaison with respective vendors throughout the year to test and produce tax Documents.
- Accountable to ensure all regulatory filings are completed prior to the regulatory cut off dates.
- Drive continuous improvement of the current state Tax Production model service level agreements (SLA) to enhance the client experience and operational efficiencies.
- Oversight of the Service Level Agreements (SLA's), compliance and ensuring high levels of service delivery are provided to partners and clients.
- Continuous review of policies and procedures to ensure risks are identified and mitigated with appropriate, documented controls that ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
- Inspiring leadership - Promote and support a work environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, celebrates achievements and strives for excellence. Continuous coaching and development of colleagues
- Where requested, provide input on complex Estate reporting, backdated correction requests and Registered Plans processing transactions to ensure accurate tax reporting.
- Represent TD Wealth at Canadian industry tax meetings.
Job Requirements
- Experience in Canadian investor taxation is an asset.
- Experience with T4RSP/RIF/FHSA. T4A, TFSA, NR4, and T3 Return production.
- People management experience is an asset.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities within a highly demanding environment.
- Ability to interpret and apply tax regulations to reporting and remitting.
- An established track record of providing exceptional customer service.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements during tax season.

Educational Requirements/Accreditations:
- Undergraduate or Post Graduate degree in Accounting/ Business/Commerce, Business Administration or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Tax/ Client Reporting, Wealth Management, Operations, Business Process Improvement/Analysis or related areas supporting lines of business
- Experience with Alteryx, macros, VBA, advanced excel is an asset
