Department Overview:

The Product Control Team, part of TD Securities (TDS) Finance is responsible for delivering financial information, and management support within TD Securities (TDS). A key function within the department is the oversight and governance related to execution and reporting of business results, in support of TD Securities' business objectives. the successful candidate will work with different stakeholders to ensure that business lines adhere to policies and procedures, and controls are effective.

Position Summary:

The position is responsible for providing financial reporting, oversight, and governance in support of TD Securities business lines. The ideal candidate will possess an exquisite mindset, strive to provide fact based financial advice, is a self-motivated self-starter, excellent at communicating with business partners and senior management, and can lead and inspire a team of Finance professionals. Additionally, the role requires key analysis, process automation, and ad-hoc reporting to support our stakeholders.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical, problem-resolution, and organizational skills are required - able to provide clear and concise summaries of relevant data, observations, and recommendations to management.
  • Ensure there are strong financial controls and efficient processes around the P&L, Attribution, Balance Sheet, and Independent Pricing Verification and Valuation Adjustment processes for TD Securities.
  • Knowledge of Non-Trading Market Risk Management is an asset.
  • Strong business acumen with a "value-added" mindset and ability to consolidate information into clear and concise analysis and recommendations.
  • Ability to effectively work under tight timelines and prioritize multiple deliverables to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners for the purposes of delivering optimal customer service.
  • Act as subject matter expert and primary escalation point for own area and provide guidance / advice and recommendations to support dealings with internal / external partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Agility and speed to proactively identify and resolve issues and manage conflict.
  • High competency level with MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Knowledge of Power BI Hyperion and OBI is also considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with TD's reporting systems and/or process across the organization considered a strong asset.
  • University degree with an accounting designation (CA, CMA or CGA) preferred.
