Job Description:

Support role to other Architects that provides research and analytical support and develops new architectural solutions for programs and projects as assigned. May also help develop prototypes and proof of concepts.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER

  • Develop new solutions as required for programs and projects; may also develop prototypes and proof of concepts
  • Participate in the conceptual and logical designs around the advancement of the overall portfolio architecture
  • Document the application, infrastructure, security, integration, operability and data architectures associated with a program or project
  • Analyze the business and technical requirements to recommend pragmatic and architecturally sound solutions
  • Monitor product lifecycles, ensuring specifications and functionality support business objectives and architecture decisions, undertaking re-development, as required
  • Work with other technologists to ensure solutions meet technical direction, requirements, performance, time-to-market and innovation goals
  • Participate in quality management reviews, in particular reviews of the designs, prototypes and other requirements work products to ensure they fulfill the requirements
  • Contribute enterprise and/or line of business architecture mandates

SHAREHOLDER

  • Adhere to standard security coding practices to ensure application is free of most common vulnerabilities
  • Ensure architectural decisions, technical risks and lessons learned are identified, clearly documented and enhancements are accordingly implemented
  • Deliver effective and efficient architectural solutions as outlined by manager that meet key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time, within budget, and adhering to development and quality standards
  • Develop interfaces, integrations and applications and perform continuous integration for development efforts
  • Create quality code, consistent with quality standards while valuing speed-to-market and demonstration of technical capabilities
  • Conduct program/ system research, analysis, detailed development and problem resolution
  • May assist with IT Audits and support the resolution of any audit findings
  • Comply with well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices and standards and project management disciplines - including creation of project documentation of system requirements, estimates of scope and cost

  • Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with emerging industry trends, new technologies and best practices in the external market that can contribute to delivering effective client solutions
  • Support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business unit and/or team
  • Participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business units
  • Establish effective relationships across multiple business and technology partners, program and project managers

BREADTH & DEPTH

  • Experienced professional level role requiring sound knowledge of one or more architecture mandates / domains and associated technology, tools, programming languages, processes, and procedures
  • Sound knowledge of organization issues and technology (software and hardware) and the development of comprehensive applications
  • Prioritizes and manages own workload in order to deliver quality results and meet timelines under guidance of management
  • Generally reports to Managing Architect or above

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
  • 2-3 years relevant experience
